  • Patent number: 11769923
Abstract: This disclosure details rigid linkages for mounting traction battery packs to portions of a vehicle frame. The rigid linkages are designed to allow the traction battery pack to articulate away from deforming structures of the vehicle frame as part of an energy distribution system. During the articulation, the rigid linkage is capable of conserving its integrity to push the traction battery pack away from the deforming structures, thereby preventing the deforming structures from contacting the traction battery pack.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 11, 2021
Date of Patent: September 26, 2023
    Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLC
Inventors: Abdelmonaam Sassi, Courtney L'Arrivée, Steven Michael Lutowsky, Jr., Shekar Prabhakar Erasala, Heiko Landsmann, Binyamin Qamruzzaman

  • Patent number: 11001161
Abstract: A vehicle includes one or more controllers, programmed to responsive to receiving an indication of a destination, select a charger within a predefined geofence from the destination; responsive to detecting the vehicle becoming less than a predefined distance from the charger, calculate a proposed charging schedule based on a current state-of-charge (SOC) and a desired SOC; and join a queue for the charger with the proposed charging schedule.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 15, 2019
Date of Patent: May 11, 2021
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC

  • Patent number: 10794268
Abstract: A vehicle has an internal combustion engine, a motor configured to propel the vehicle, and a supercharger. A mechanical connection is configured to transfer torque from at least one of the engine and machine to the supercharger. The supercharger is a single torque load on the mechanical connection. The vehicle further has a first clutch between the motor and engine and a second clutch between the motor and supercharger.
