  • Patent number: 10401453
Abstract: A method of acquiring magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from an MRI scan of an object includes generating a number of excitation sequences by, in order: generating an excitation pulse, generating an imaging magnetic field gradient, and generating a spoiler magnetic field gradient. MRI data is acquired during the generation of the spoiler magnetic field gradients. The spoiler magnetic field gradients are selected such that, during each excitation sequence, substantially the same k-space trajectory is traversed during the generation of the spoiler magnetic field gradient.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 22, 2017
Date of Patent: September 3, 2019

  • Patent number: 10364128
Abstract: An assembly for controlling a vertically extending member includes a device having a stop member and a speed control member for controlling movement of the vertically extending member such as an elevator load bearing member during a roping procedure. In a disclosed example, the stop member is biased into a stop position where the vertically extending member is locked between a brake pad and a guiding member so that the vertically extending member cannot move relative to the device. An example input member for moving the stop member out of the stop position comprises a foot pedal that can be manipulated to control a position of the stop member. Absent manual manipulation of the input member, the stop member prevents movement of the vertically extending member. In a disclosed example, a speed control member comprises a pad that selectively engages a vertically extending member responsive to manual manipulation of a handle for moving the pad relative to a base of the device.

  • Publication number: 20190084796
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a safety system can comprise at least one receiver, each located in a restricted access area; a safe operation monitor coupled to the at least one receiver configured to detect signals from the at least one receiver; wherein: the at least one receiver is configured to receive signals from a transmitter, the transmitter being used by a worker within the restricted access area; the safe operation monitor is configured to protect the restricted access area, based on the receipt of a signal from the transmitter; and causing an alert on the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 9604823
Abstract: An assembly for controlling a vertically extending member includes a device (22) having a stop member (34) and a speed control member (36) for controlling movement of the vertically extending member such as an elevator load bearing member (32) during a roping procedure. In a disclosed example, the stop member (34) is biased into a stop position where the vertically extending member (32) is locked between a brake pad (60) and a guiding member (54) so that the vertically extending member (32) cannot move relative to the device (22). An example input member for moving the stop member (34) out of the stop position comprises a foot pedal (70) that can be manipulated to control a position of the stop member (34). Absent manual manipulation of the input member, the stop member (34) prevents movement of the vertically extending member (32).

  • Patent number: 8714537
Abstract: A clamp device (30) includes a plurality of arms (32, 34). One of the arms supports a securing member (36). The other arm includes a curvilinear surface (40) that directly engages a curved wall of an article at a location in line with a centerline of the securing member. The curvilinear surface (40) allows for the clamp device to reliably engage an article having a curved wall for a lifting operation. One example use of a disclosed example device is for lifting tubes associated with a hydraulic elevator system.

  • Patent number: 7857115
Abstract: A device (42) useful for working on an escalator (20) provides a tread surface (50) that is obliquely oriented relative to an incline (I) of the escalator (20) during a maintenance or repair procedure. A disclosed example is useful for spanning at least a portion of an escalator (20) where the normal operating steps (22) have been removed for purposes of working on the escalator (20). A disclosed example includes a tread surface (50), a riser portion (52) that is at least partially generally perpendicular to the tread surface (50), a first axle hook (54) and a second axle hook (56). The axle hooks rest upon spaced axles (46) associated with the escalator for positioning a temporary step (44) as desired for facilitating working on the escalator.
