Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to methods and pharmaceutical compositions useful in treating pulmonary hypertension. In one embodiment, for example, the disclosure provides a method for treating pulmonary hypertension comprising administering a therapeutically effective dose of a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor to a patient in need of treatment. The disclosure finds utility in the fields of medicine and pharmacology.

Abstract: A combined prime valve and electrical pressure control apparatus including a prime valve actuator, an electrical pressure control actuator, and a control housing containing the actuators, with each coupled to a single shaft having a cam assembly for selectively actuating the control apparatus to one of a prime mode and a spray mode and the electrical pressure control is operable within a range of pressure settings by movement of the shaft while the control apparatus remains in the spray mode. The actuators are oriented diametrically opposite and offset along an axis of the single shaft with respect to each other, and contact the cam assembly and respectively contact a lever for a prime valve and a pressure switch carrier. A setscrew in the carrier provides adjustment of the pressure at which the switch is actuated.

Abstract: A hand-held apparatus for spraying texture material including a body, a pressurized air source mounted on the body, a texture material hopper mounted on the body, and a texture delivery nozzle for selectively spraying texture material from the hopper onto a surface to be coated by propelling the texture material using pressurized air from the pressurized air source wherein each of the air source and the hopper can be disconnected from the body without the use of tools. An air directing plunger has a plurality of discontinuities at an outlet thereof, which may be radially outwardly directed recesses or radially inwardly directed teeth for reducing the noise generated by the pressurized air during operation.

Abstract: A manually operated internally fed paint brush having a resilient handle forming a refillable paint reservoir and a brush head with a fluid delivery path connecting the reservoir to the brush head via a siphon tube having an inlet positioned at a lowermost region of the reservoir when the paint brush is generally horizontal. A combined valve and O-ring seals an outlet of the siphon tube and selectively opens in response to compression of the reservoir. A latching mechanism retains the brush head to the handle. A trough having a spout is provided for filling the paint brush.

Abstract: Systems and methods for supporting user input in a media guidance application is provided. A visual keypad including a non-alphanumeric pane with at least one non-alphanumeric or function button may rotate, or orbit, around some or all of the core alphabet block. The non-alphanumeric pane may be redisplayed or repositioned closer or adjacent to the current cursor position within the visual keypad. Enhanced user input features, such as automatic string completion, automatic next character selection, automatic cursor movement, and automatic character removal, may be combined with the non-alphanumeric pane.

Abstract: Systems and methods for simplifying text entry are provided. A visual keypad may include a plurality of user-selectable buttons corresponding to at least some of the buttons of the alphabet. The layout of the visual keypad may be determined based on an n-gram table. The layout of the visual keypad may be rearranged based at least in part on the most likely next character in response to receiving a user selection of a button on the visual keypad.

These artists being addressed by their actual name, for those artists who are commonly name recognizable, or the artists are determined by a subjective review, by a human service staff component of the community, of artist criteria submitted by the PROJECT member.

Abstract: A custom front-end for order entry and pricing with straight-forward integration to a conventional enterprise resource planning (ERP) system allows integration between the custom front-end and the existing ERP system in a straightforward manner without the need to modify the ERP system source code or other functionality. Order-specific data is stored in custom tables created under the ERP database while using standard ERP application classification for maintaining the link to the ERP object and the custom configuration. Custom function modules enable the dynamic transfer of data between the order specific data and the native ERP variant configuration module. The tables provide a middle ground between the ERP application and any number of custom front end interfaces such as web-based applications accessible via intranets and/or the Internet.

Abstract: The shared multi-user communication system allows a group of users to explore, navigate, manipulate and examine application data in a multi-dimensional synthetic environment. A shared user state and parameter table storing the attributes of the data being examined at each synthetic environment system within the group is stored locally at each synthetic environment system. A shared control table defines which parameters of the data locally examined are to be controlled by the local user and which attributes are to be controlled by a remote synthetic environment system. Thus, data may be examined at the local station fully independent from the examination of data at remote stations. Alternatively, the data examined at the local station may be partially or wholly synchronized to the examination of data at remote stations. An override table is further provided to enable data being examined at the local station to be maintained privately and not transmitted to the remote synthetic environment systems of the group.

Abstract: A multi-dimensional user oriented synthetic environment system allows application programs to be programmed and accessed with input/output device independent, generic functional commands which are a distillation of the actual functions performed by any application program. A shared memory structure allows the translation of device specific commands to device independent, generic functional commands. Complete flexibility of the mapping of synthetic environment data to the user is thereby allowed. Accordingly, synthetic environment data may be provided to the user on parallel user information processing channels allowing the subcognitive mind to act as a filter, eliminating irrelevant information and allowing the processing of increase amounts of data by the user.
