  • Patent number: 10855551
Abstract: A multi-port configuration system includes a network switch including a plurality of ports and a user device that is configured to couple to the network switch. Each of the plurality of ports is configured to operate in at least one of a plurality of modes. A congruent graphical representation of the network switch is displayed on the user device, and a selection of a group of ports of the plurality of ports is received. Based on the received selection of the group of ports, available configuration settings for the group of ports are displayed on the user device. A configuration settings selection, selected from the available configuration settings, for configuring the group of ports is received. The configuration settings selection is provided to the network switch to configure the group of ports.

  • Patent number: 6119019
Abstract: A flip cover assembly for an apparatus having an apparatus housing includes a cam member rotatably attached to the apparatus housing, a flip cover attached to the cam member for rotating with the cam member, and structure formed in the apparatus housing for urging the cam member and thus the flip cover toward one of an open position and a closed position in accordance with a relative position of the cam member. The cam member includes at least two dwell surfaces disposed on opposite sides of a raised surface. The dwell surfaces engage the urging structure in the open and closed positions, respectively, and the raised surface of the cam member engages the urging structure in an opening/closing position between the open and closed positions. The arrangement provides a positive "feel" for the open and closed positions, and by using a cam mechanism, multiple variations on flip cover feel and motion can be achieved. Moreover, the simplified structure reduces manufacturing time and costs.

  • Patent number: 5900846
Abstract: A flexible telescoping antenna is constructed of plastic tubular sections telescoping between an end section and a compact antenna. Conducting inserts are provided within the tubular sections and enable electrical contact at any extraction interval of the antenna. The antenna utilizing plastic telescoping sections allows maximum mechanical deflection and thereby resists breakage while providing optimum electrical performance.

  • Patent number: 5835071
Abstract: An improved RF antenna connector providing a shielded RF connection point is disclosed. The improved antenna connector consist of a metal housing which substantially surrounds a metal contact acting as an RF feed point connector. The metal contact is placed within the housing by connection to an insulating connector that slides into a chamber in the housing such that the metal contact is located within and substantially surrounded by the housing. The metal contact is also positioned to contact the RF feed points of an antenna and a printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5748455
Abstract: An electromagnetic shield is incorporated into a radiotelephone. The radiotelephone includes a printed circuit board having a ground trace extending around an electrical circuit formed on the printed circuit board. The electromagnetic shield is disposed adjacent the printed circuit board for isolating the electrical circuit thereon. Forming a part of the electromagnetic shield is a face, a side wall, and a series of spaced apart spring contacts that extend from the side wall for electrical contact with the ground trace on the printed circuit board. Disposed over the shield is a housing structure that engages the shield and urges the shield against the printed circuit board such that the spring contacts thereof engage and make electrical contact with the ground trace of the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5724234
Abstract: A shield can for radio frequency (RF) shielding of electronic circuitry mounted on or embedded in the surface of an insulating substrate such as a printed circuit board (PCB). The design of the shield can allows it to conform to variations in the surface of the PCB. The shield can, which is usually formed of metal, includes a top and a plurality of side walls dimensioned to completely cover the electronic circuity when the shield can is placed over the circuitry. According to the present invention, any of the sides of the shield can may be made to conform to the surface of the PCB (and to effectively contact a ground trace on the PCB) by providing a plurality of vertical slots in the side. The slotted side would then have a series of metal teeth each of which can be displaced angularly to the extent required to conform to the PCB when a modest force is applied to the top of the shield can.
