  • Publication number: 20150243116
Abstract: An electronic vehicle key includes a controller receptive to electrical power from both conductive transmission and inductive transmission. The controller has a processor that is responsive to executable computer instructions for controlling operation of the electronic vehicle key. The electronic vehicle key also includes a passive device configured to be receptive to a field external of the electronic vehicle key for inducing an electric current in the passive device. The passive device is in communication with the controller. The controller is configured and disposed to cause the passive device to transmit a radio-frequency signal as a result of the electric current induced in the passive device. The radio-frequency signal, when received at a vehicle, will enable activation of a vehicle feature.

  • Publication number: 20150113086
Abstract: A method for real-time communication among two or more individuals separated in space. The method includes the steps of determining that a first individual is likely to be interested in communicating with a second individual via a first communications link; retrieving information via the first communications link about one or more additional individuals from electronic memory means associated with the second individual; and establishing communication with at least one of the additional individuals based on the retrieved information.

  • Publication number: 20150002618
Abstract: A meeting management system for managing the conduct of a large meeting online provides the ability to split the online attendees into two classes, those who will actively take part in the meeting or videoconference and who will both receive and provide a video and audio stream, and those who will only receive a video and audio stream. The latter attendees will receive the stream from servers remote from the actual meeting manage system, possibly after the stream has been forwarded through several remote servers and has gained considerable latency. The latency will not be an issue as these attendees have no comparison with the live stream.

  • Patent number: 8626329
Abstract: An improved assembly, test, packaging and/or processing system and a control system, each of which may be expanded or reduced in size, capability and/or capacity on a modular basis to suit or adapt to a number of different applications. The product assembly, test, packaging and/or processing system comprises a number of modules which are assembled and arranged as required. Pallets move between stations on the modules along track portions which cooperate with track portions on adjacent modules so other modules can be added without affecting the movement of the pallets. When those modules are added or removed, or when stations are added or removed, corresponding controllers in the control system are also added or removed.

  • Publication number: 20100049597
Abstract: The invention provides a supervised voting method for allowing a voter to vote under the supervision of a supervisor at a voting booth at which the voter can vote. The method comprises the voter providing identity information to the supervisor, the supervisor verifying the identity of the voter and sending the identity information to a remote polling administrator service, which determines voter specific voting options to be presented to that voter. The method further comprises the polling administrator service sending details of the voter-specific voting options to the voting booth, the voting booth displaying the voting options to the voter, voting booth receiving voting information from the voter, and the voting booth sending the voting information to a vote processor.
