  • Patent number: 11967884
Abstract: An energy conversion device may include a shaft including a first portion and a second portion wherein the first portion of the shaft is configured to rotate relative to the second portion of the shaft. A rotor may be coupled to the first portion of the shaft and a stator may be coupled to the second portion of the shaft. A first one-way bearing may be coupled to the first portion of the shaft and configured to transfer rotational input to the first portion of the shaft in a first direction. A second one-way bearing may be coupled to the second portion of the shaft and configured to transfer rotational input to the second portion of the shaft in a second direction opposite the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20220161621
Abstract: An energy conversion assembly including an input shaft coupled to a first annular gear through a first direction limiting device configured to allow rotation of the first annular gear in a first direction and substantially inhibit rotation of the first annular gear in a second direction. The input shaft may be coupled to a second annular gear through a second direction limiting device configured to allow rotation of the second annular gear in the second direction and substantially inhibit rotation of the second annular gear in the first direction. The assembly may include a first transmitting gear engaged with the first annular gear, a second transmitting gear engaged with the second annular gear, a conversion gear operatively coupled to the second transmitting gear, and a transmitting shaft coupled to the first transmitting gear and the conversion gear.
