  • Publication number: 20240239033
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for mitigating vent flow into a vent attachment on an extruder vent of an extruder. The vent attachment has a vent attachment port configured to release gases from the extruder vent. The techniques include monitoring temperature via a temperature probe mounted at least partly inside an interior opening of the vent attachment. The temperature probe is communicatively coupled to a programmable logic controller (PLC). A region of the vent attachment adjacent the temperature probe is cooled so as to reduce an operating temperature of the region and of the temperature probe. Vent flow is detected in response to the PLC determining a rate of temperature change of the temperature probe exceeding a predetermined threshold rate and thereby indicating presence of the material in the vent attachment port.

  • Publication number: 20240229637
Abstract: A computer implemented method of predicting a future maintenance event of a pumping equipment on a wellbore pumping unit comprising loading a pump usage log and a pump maintenance log into a predictive maintenance model. The predictive maintenance model is trained by a machine learning process with a historical database of completed pumping jobs. The predictive maintenance model determines a probability of a future maintenance event in response to the current pump usage. The unit controller displays an alert of the remaining pump life in comparison to a threshold value for a recommended pump maintenance period or a required pump maintenance period.

  • Publication number: 20240033857
Abstract: A method for creating a cracking line in a connecting rod includes etching, using a first pass of a laser, a groove in an inner surface of a larger bore of a connecting rod by removing material from the inner surface. The groove may be discontinuous and include a plurality of holes that are spaced apart and have different depths. The method further includes removing more material from the groove using a second pass of the laser to increase the depths of the holes, thereby increasing the stress concentration factor of the groove.
