  • Patent number: 7349144
Abstract: An exterior electrochromic reflective mirror element for a vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly comprises an electrochromic cross-linked polymeric solid film disposed between a first substrate and a second substrate. The electrochromic cross-linked polymeric solid film contacts a transparent conductive layer of the first substrate and a conductive layer comprising a metallic reflective layer of the second substrate. A visual indicator display is disposed to the rear of said second substrate and is part of a blind spot detection and display system and is actuated to emit light responsive to a detection of another overtaking vehicle in a side lane. Light emitted by the visual indicator display passes through the second substrate, through the electrochromic cross-linked polymeric solid film and through the first substrate to be viewed by a driver of the vehicle equipped with the exterior electochromic reflective mirror element.

  • Patent number: 7340717
Abstract: A method for generating a software model of a dynamic system takes as input a preliminary software model of the system. Normally, the preliminary software model is based on a system model that is generated by a system designer within a modeling environment. Generally speaking, the preliminary software model does not allow access to the internal variables of the system model from outside the modeling environment, but nonetheless may be executed on a computer platform in the absence of the modeling environment. Interface software is then produced which exposes the internal variables of the system model. The resulting software model, built from both the preliminary software model and the interface software, allows programmatic access to its internal variables, and potentially allows execution control, from outside the modeling environment, thus typically enhancing detailed simulation of the system model beyond the capabilities provided by the modeling environment.

  • Patent number: 7337448
Abstract: The present invention provides an application programming interface (“API”) to address book management functions for accessing and managing an integrated online address book clearinghouse. The API receives function calls from applications and executes one or more functions in response to the function calls. The address book functions manage address books of the integrated online address book clearinghouse by adding, deleting, updating, and finding address books, contacts, and groups of contacts of the address books. The API also verifies identity information to assure that each function call has authorization to access the desired address book. The API further includes a parameter processing module for processing function-specific parameters passed in data envelopes to the API by the applications. The API also includes a response generating module for responding to the application that sent a function call to the API.

  • Patent number: 7202987
Abstract: An electrochromic mirror device suitable for use in a vehicle comprises a first transparent substrate having a transparent conductive layer on a surface thereof and a second substrate having a conductive layer on a surface thereof. The conductive layer of the first substrate opposes the second conductive layer of the second substrate in a spaced-apart relationship thereby forming an interpane distance between the substrates. A boundary seal is interposed between the first and second substrates spacing apart the substrates and forming a cavity wherein the interpane distance is at least about 10 microns. An electrochromic cross-linked polymeric solid film is disposed within the cavity. The electrochromic cross-linked solid polymeric film is formed from an electrochromic monomer composition that includes at least one cathodic electrochromic compound. • Patent number: 7194726
Abstract: A method for automatically decomposing a dynamic system model into separate submodels for ultimate execution on diverse target platforms is provided. Embodiments of the invention provide a way for a system designer to indicate which portions of a previously-specified system model are to become submodels. Optionally, the designer may also indicate the associated target platform for the execution of each submodel. A system submodel for each portion designated by the designer is generated, keeping all critical system-level information consistent throughout the entire system model. Each of these system submodels may then be employed to generate a software version of each system submodel. Each software submodel may then be transferred to its specified target platform and executed in cooperation with the other software submodels to effect an overall system simulation executing across the associated target platforms.

  • Patent number: 7172313
Abstract: A flashlight having a non-conductive housing, an electric power source, a light source, and two nodes disposed on external surfaces of the non-conductive housing, wherein the flashlight is adapted to allow electric current to flow from the power source through the light source when both of the two nodes are abutted by a user's hand, activating the flashlight without further manipulation required by the user. Inadvertent activation of the flashlight is minimized by including a protruding rib between the nodes or by disposing the nodes on different sides of the flashlight.

  • Patent number: 7103526
Abstract: A method for exposing the internal signals of a system model or software model of a dynamic system to a client application outside the original modeling environment is provided. A designer of the system model is provided with a way to select internal signals of the system model in order to expose those internal signals to other computer applications external to the modeling environment. Such computer applications are then able to access the internal signals by way of interfacing software while the system model is being exercised within the modeling environment, or while a software model based on the system model is executed outside of that environment.

  • Patent number: 7064635
Abstract: A circuit breaker including a housing, separable contacts, a cradle rotatably mounted within the housing, an alarm switch mounted within the housing, and an interface lever disposed between the cradle and the alarm switch. The cradle is adapted to rotate about a first axis in a first direction when the circuit breaker moves to a tripped position in which the separable contacts are separated from one another. The alarm switch includes an actuation lever movable in an actuation direction, wherein movement of the actuation lever in the actuation direction causes the alarm switch to activate an alarm device electrically connected thereto. When the cradle rotates in the first direction, the cradle exerts a first force against the interface lever that causes the interface lever to exert a second force against the actuation lever that causes the actuation lever to move in the actuation direction.

  • Patent number: 6954300
Abstract: The present invention relates to electrochromic polymeric solid films, manufacturing electrochromic devices using such solid films and processes for making such solid films and devices. The electrochromic polymeric solid films of the present invention exhibit beneficial properties and characteristics, especially when compared to known electrochromic media. The electrochromic polymeric solid films are transformed in situ from a low viscosity electrochromic monomer composition by exposure to electromagnetic radiation, and in so doing minimum shrinkage occurs. The electrochromic polymeric solid films of the present invention also perform well under prolonged coloration, outdoor weathering and all-climate exposure, and provide an inherent safety aspect not known to electrochromic media heretofore.
