    Abstract: Apparatus for forming a trench in the ground includes a frame having ground engaging wheels, a boom attached to and extending outwardly from the frame, a chain which extends around the periphery of the boom, a plurality of cutting teeth mounted on the chain, and a motor mounted in the frame for driving the chain around the boom. The cutting teeth are mounted on the chain in a canted orientation which extends the useful life of the teeth.
