  • Patent number: 10668714
Abstract: Retransfer printing methods and systems are described where a variable stripping process is utilized while stripping all or a portion of the retransfer film (also known as intermediate transfer media) from the surface of a substrate. The variable stripping process includes stripping the retransfer film from different sections of the substrate surface while applying different tensions to the retransfer film and/or at different transport speeds of the retransfer film and the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120052101
Abstract: A method of forming a thin film strip and thin film strips formed thereby where the method comprises coating a liner substrate with a wet slurry of film forming ingredients and other components and drying the wet slurry in a drying apparatus to form a film, measuring the moisture content of the film either during of upon exit from the drying apparatus, and storing the film in a minimal moisture loss environment during a curing process.

  • Publication number: 20080069864
Abstract: Cosmetic and skin care products are dispersed or encapsulated within a polymer matrix to provide a convenient means of storing and transporting the cosmetic or skin care product prior to use. Prior to use the polymer matrix is solubilized or melted to release the cosmetic or skin care product to the user's skin.

  • Publication number: 20070218090
Abstract: An article of manufacture includes a substrate having at least one zone on a surface of the substrate and at least one ingredient on a surface of the substrate. The at least one ingredient is associated with a respective one of the at least one zone.

  • Publication number: 20060228558
Abstract: A layered material for use in transparent, flame resistant components couples a thin, fire resistant outer polymeric film to a thicker, transparent inner polymeric material. The resultant transparent layered material meets FAA flammability requirements for OSU heat release, has excellent solvent resistance and cleanability, is scratch resistant, and is transparent enough for use in interior applications in the aerospace industry. The layered material is formed via a co-extrusion or co-lamination process.

  • Publication number: 20050170138
Abstract: This invention also provides laminated thin films with increased active ingredient loading. Also disclosed are films where one or more layers are foamed, contain “bubbles”, or entrain a gas to provide a greatly enhanced solid to gas interface and thereby provide a rate of dissolution that can be modified at will.

  • Patent number: 4714084
Abstract: A method and apparatus for simultaneously applying and blending pigmented cosmetics is one step, wherein pressurized air is released from a container, is divided into one or more spray channels, and exits together with pigmented cosmetics through a directional shield onto an individual's skin. The pigmented cosmetics are mixed with the pressurized air by various means. In a preferred embodiment of the apparatus, a part or the entire directional shield can be removed, enabling changes in the size and shape of the area of skin where the pigmented cosmetics are deposited. For some embodiments of the apparatus, the colors and types of cosmetics used can be varied by switching interchangeable cartridges or canisters of cosmetics.
