Abstract: A container with an opening for receiving items for later disposal is disclosed. The container includes a container body with a bottom and a sidewall extending upwards from the bottom, as well as a removable lid to close the container. The container also includes a lock to lock the lid to the container. An engagement structure is provided on a side opposite the lock to prevent separation of the lid from the container body. The container may be stackable by including complementary male and female structures on the bottom and the lid. The container may also include a handle adjacent the bottom that contacts the ground when the container rests on the ground.

Abstract: A waste or recycling container system is disclosed. The container system includes a container and a rigid liner for inserting into the container. The liner includes a supporting structure provided on a wall of the liner. The liner also includes bag retention structures. The liner is capable of being placed in the container in a first position and a second position. In the first position, the bag retention structures are below an opening of the container. In the second position, the supporting structure rests on a resting portion of the container walls and the liner is elevated with respect to the first position such that the bag retention structures are above the opening of the container.

Abstract: A modular waste disposal or recycling container and modular container system are disclosed. The container includes a base and one or more sidewalls extending upwardly from the base. The base and the one or more sidewalls together define an interior space for receiving waste or recyclables. A sidewall of the one or more sidewalls comprises one or more sockets, and each of the one or more sockets is capable of removably receiving a respective one of a magnet, a ferromagnetic insert and a plug with a cap that covers the socket. The modular container system includes at least two containers, one having magnetic properties on a first sidewall and the other having ferromagnetic properties on a second sidewall. When placed adjacent to each other, the first and second sidewalls releasably adhere to each other.
