  • Patent number: 8390669
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a method for identifying individuals in a multimedia stream originating from a video conferencing terminal or a Multipoint Control Unit, including executing a face detection process on the multimedia stream; defining subsets including facial images of one or more individuals, where the subsets are ranked according to a probability that their respective one or more individuals will appear in a video stream; comparing a detected face to the subsets in consecutive order starting with a most probable subset, until a match is found; and storing an identity of the detected face as searchable metadata in a content database in response to the detected face matching a facial image in one of the subsets.

  • Patent number: 8260854
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and a method allowing users to record/stream a video conference by dialing a Content Server from any endpoint using a personal alias or aliases, or by dialing an endpoint from a content server using a personal alias or aliases. The alias(es) will define their preferred streaming/archiving template(s) and call configuration(s), allow them to set specific viewing rules for the conference and identify them as the owner of the conferences created through this alias. The alias owner can also assign default meta data (title, description, etc.) and an access list for determining who can view the recorded and/or streamed conference. By allowing this, each user can easily stream/record a conference with their preferred settings without having to check or change the settings each time a new call is made, and without changing the settings for other users.

  • Publication number: 20070273754
Abstract: A method and system for correlating content with linear media. More particularly, but not exclusively, the method and system correlate synchronous content with linear media by linking the content to a portion of the linear media, and including creating content related to the linear media; identifying a portion of the linear media corrected to the content; and linking the content to the portion; wherein the content is not synchronized with the linear media and the content is created non-contemporaneously with creation of the linear media.

  • Publication number: 20050122393
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, system and apparatus for encoding audio visual media signals sourced from preferably a video conference transmission. The technology provided is adapted to receive a video conference transmission from a computer network where this video conference transmission includes at least one audio visual signal and at least one protocol signal. One or more protocol signals are then read from the transmission received with the technology provided applying a selected encoding process to a received audio visual signal, wherein the encoding process selected depends on the contents of a read protocol signal.
