  • Patent number: 7712151
Abstract: An apparatus and method allows for the construction of an inflatable, protective enclosure that provides a temporary, contaminant free environment for one or more individuals. The approach results in a protective suit and/or enclosure that is inexpensive, compactly stored and light-weight, yet provides a reliable source of filtered, contaminant-free air as well as upper-body and/or full-body protection for one or more persons. The protective suits/enclosures described produce an over pressure environment within the protective enclosure so that a positive flow of filtered air is maintained between the interior of the suit or enclosure and the outside environment, thus assuring that no contaminants may seep into the protected, contaminant free interior.

  • Publication number: 20090249715
Abstract: A fastener for removably securing a protective panel to a structure includes a shaft having a first portion and a second portion. The shaft includes a first opening extending through the second portion of the shaft. The fastener also includes a sleeve sized to fit over the second portion of the shaft. The sleeve includes second and third openings extending through the sleeve that are spaced apart by a distance greater than a thickness of the protective panel to be secured to the structure. The second opening corresponds to the first opening in the shaft and the third opening is located in the sleeve beyond an end of the second portion of the shaft when the first and second openings are aligned. The fastener also includes a first pin that is insertable into the first and second openings and a second pin that is insertable into the third opening.

  • Patent number: 6745522
Abstract: Telescoping hurricane shutters protect a window during a storm but eliminate the need for pre-sized storm shutters. The interchangeable storm shutters are made up of individual panels slidably connected to one another. The panels may be extended to cover an exposed area of window. The storm shutters may be interlocked together in order to fit a particular window and may be held in place by brackets, quick tapping screws, or threaded rods and nuts that allow for quick installation and removal.

  • Patent number: 5319548
Abstract: An interactive golf game information system receives, stores, analyzes and outputs a plurality of different types of information related to golf. The system generates a golf play recording card for every hole on a golf course. The recording cards can be customized to display information on how previous rounds of golf on the same course were played or how the system recommends to play the course. A golfer uses these recording cards to record a single character for each stroke on each hole. Each single character represents one of a number of golf clubs used and a golf ball location on the actual golf course. After the golfer is finished playing, the cards are inserted into the system which reads the marks recorded on the golf play recording cards by recognizing each of the characters marked on each card. After the system reads and processes the information recorded on the cards, the system compiles statistical information and analyzes a golfer's performance based on information recorded read.
