Abstract: Fuel cells (38) have water passageways (67; 78, 85; 78a, 85a) that provide water through reactant gas flow field plates (74, 81) to cool the fuel cell. The water passageways may be vented to atmosphere (99), by a porous plug (69), or pumped (89, 146) with or without removing any water from the passageways. A condenser (59, 124) receives reactant air exhaust, may have a contiguous reservoir (64, 128), may be vertical, (a vehicle radiator, FIG. 2), may be horizontal, contiguous with the top of the fuel cell stack (37, FIG. 5), or below (124) the fuel cell stack (120). The passageways may be grooves (76, 77; 83, 84) or may comprise a plane of porous hydrophilic material (78a, 85a) contiguous with substantially the entire surface of one or both of the reactant gas flow field plates. Air flow in the condenser may be controlled by shutters (155). The condenser may be a heat exchanger (59a) having freeze-proof liquid flowing through a coil (161) thereof, the amount being controlled by a valve (166).

Abstract: An orifice modifier which can be added to a frozen confection-dispensing outlet and which can impart, ideally without human manipulation, a desired shape to the dispensed product. In a preferred embodiment, the orifice modifier is, or includes, one or more edges or borders which impose a shape on the dispensing orifice whereby to produce a product with a desirable pattern. Preferably, the edges or borders include a serrated or other pattern. In a particularly preferred embodiment, a mechanism is provided for moving the one or more borders while the product is being dispensed. If the orifice modifier is moved during dispensing of the product, an especially esthetically pleasing pattern is formed in the emerging ice cream. Such patterns can be captured for the final product by refrigeration.

Abstract: A pipeline isolating device for istallation into and occlusion of a pressurised liquid or fluid supply pipe comprising a substantially solid and deformable boot (1) wich is adapted to move between an expanded and an unexpanded state and a shaped plunger (2) adapted to move into and out of said boot (1) wherein the boot (1) has a hollow interior (3) with a displacement contour (6) adapted to receive and cooperate with said plunger (2) so as to cause said boot (1) to move between said expanded state when the plunger (2) is inserted into said hollow interior (3) of the boot (1) and said unexpanded state when said plunger (2) is withdrawn from the interior (3) of the boot (1).

Abstract: Authentication and verification of the integrity of multimedia content delivered from a server to a client through a computer network, such as the Internet, provides a substantial reduction in the possibility of inaccurate and/or unintended content being displayed to a user. Each content file stored on the server is cryptographically registered and such registration information is stored on the server along with the corresponding file name. A user is provided with a second (e.g., public) key corresponding to a first (e.g., private) key used to cryptographically register the content files.
