  • Patent number: 11306726
Abstract: A bearing system includes a bearing housing that includes a sleeve and a mounting structure for connecting the bearing system to a compressor housing. The sleeve has a radial inner surface that defines a cylindrical bore, and includes a locking feature located along the radial inner surface. The mounting structure is located radially outward from the sleeve. The bearing system also includes a foil bearing assembly positioned within the cylindrical bore. The foil bearing assembly includes an outer foil, an inner foil, and a bump foil positioned between the outer foil and the inner foil. At least one of the outer foil and the inner foil includes a bearing retention feature cooperatively engaged with the locking feature to maintain the foil bearing assembly within the bearing housing at a fixed rotational position.

  • Patent number: 7031032
Abstract: A scanning system which supports platen and sheet fed scanning of documents comprises a first scanning unit with a first enclosure housing a first set of mechanisms enables full sheet fed scanning functions. A second set of mechanisms enables partial scanning functions. The first scanning unit also comprises a docking interface defining an opening of the first enclosure. A second scanning unit with a second enclosure is capable of attachment to the first scanning unit through the docking interface and includes a third set of mechanisms which enables complete platen scanning of documents in operable combination with the second set of mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 6783026
Abstract: An articulated flag body member permitting bi-directional passage of an object. The articulated flag body member has a flag body pivotably connected to a flag foot. As rotation of the flag foot occurs in one direction, the flag body rotates by engagement of a recess of the flag foot with a stop member extending along a projecting leg of the flag body. As the flag body rotates, a notch at the upper portion of the flag body changes positions such that light, or other signals, may no longer pass through the notch. Thus, positional indication of an object detected by rotation of the flag body. As rotation of the flag foot occurs in an opposite direction, an object may be extricated or removed.

  • Patent number: 6315285
Abstract: A media supply receptacle (10) includes: a) a horizontally inclined base plate (18); b) a movable, slotted input tray (14) generally parallel to and above the base plate (18), with a generally flat upper surface for supporting a stack of sheet media; c) evenly spaced, parallel control rod slots (15) in the input tray; and d) at least one media adjustment guide member (11), which includes identical, evenly spaced control rods (12). The control rods are vertically positioned with respect to the horizontally aligned input tray (14), and at least one passes through a corresponding control rod slot (15). Each control rod (12) has a lower end affixed to the base plate, and an opposite, upper end affixed to a guide cap. Each guide cap (13) extends across the upper ends of the control rods (12) in the guide member (11) and over the input tray. The receptacle (10) is adapted for feeding the stack of sheet media to the adjacent image forming or rendering apparatus, a sheet at a time.
