  • Patent number: 4603639
Abstract: The device controls the speed of a driverless vehicle by way of a cam having an acceleration surface and a deceleration surface for contact with a cam follower on the driverless vehicle. The cam is mounted for reciprocation in a horizontal direction between an operative position wherein the deceleration surface will cause a driverless vehicle to stop and an inoperative position wherein the cam will not cause such vehicle to stop.

  • Patent number: 4462313
Abstract: A driverless shuttle vehicle transfers driverless vehicles between first and second parallel tracks. The shuttle vehicle has a track thereon adapted to be aligned with each of the first and second tracks. A motor adjacent each end of the first and second tracks is adapted to selectively move the shuttle vehicle track horizontally toward the end of its associated track for loading and unloading of a driverless vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4005787
Abstract: Apparatus and method are disclosed for automatically unloading a driverless vehicle while the vehicle is moving along a guided path. The propulsion force of the vehicle is used to effect the unloading. A cantilever arm projects across the guided path for the driverless vehicle and is pushed out of the way by the vehicle. The pushing of the cantilever arm by the vehicle causes a sweep arm to traverse at least a portion of the vehicle deck thereby pushing a load off the deck onto a receiver such as a conveyor. The cantilever arm and sweep arm are selectively connected together whereby vehicles which are not to be unloaded may traverse the location of the unloader without effecting movement of the sweep arm.
