    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and network communication node for suppressing transmission of a request packet, in the context of a request-response network protocol, if a packet in response to a currently pending request packet is present in an input process queue in a network communication node are presented. One embodiment of the present invention provides this capability by pre-processing an incoming packet to determine whether the packet is designated as being in response to a pending request.
