Publication number: 20070122353Abstract: The present invention provides novel condensation aerosols for the treatment of disease and/or intermittent or acute conditions. These condensation aerosols have little or no pyrolysis degradation products and are characterized by having an MMAD of between 1-3 microns. These aerosols are made by rapidly heating a substrate coated with a thin film of drug having a thickness of between 0.05 and 20 ?m, while passing a gas over the film, to form particles of a desirable particle size for inhalation. Kits comprising a drug and a device for producing a condensation aerosol are also provided The device contained in the kit typically, has an element for heating the drug which is coated as a film on the substrate and contains a therapeutically effective dose of a drug when the drug is administered in aerosol form, and an element allowing the vapor to cool to form an aerosol. Also disclosed, are methods for using these aerosols and kits.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2006Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventors: Ron Hale, Craig Hodges, Peter Lloyd, Amy Lu, Daniel Myers, Joshua Rabinowitz, Martin Wensley, Jeffrey McKinney, Alejandro Zaffaroni

Patent number: 6386297Abstract: A method is provided for generating an indicator of potential bit abrasion in a particular wellbore. Forensic wellbore data is obtained from at least one previously drilled wellbore which is determined to be comparable to the particular target wellbore. Typically, the comparable wellbore comprises an “offset” wellbore which is proximate the target wellbore, and which has similar geologic features. An inference engine computer program is provided which consists of executable program instructions. It is adapted to utilize a plurality of wellbore parameters, including the forensic wellbore data. The inference engine includes at least one rule matrix which defines a plurality of fuzzy sets. These fuzzy sets establish correspondence between the plurality of wellbore parameters and the indictor of potential bit abrasion. The inference engine computer program is loaded onto a data processing system. At least the forensic wellbore data is supplied as an input to the inference engine computer program.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2000Date of Patent: May 14, 2002Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Craig Hodges Cooley, David Alexander Curry, Leroy William Ledgerwood, III
