Abstract: The invention includes a tube fabricated for use in a tubeway, which includes a plurality of tube segments. Each tube segment forms a portion of the tube. The tube segment is extruded in a form to allow for joining with other tube segments to form the a tube. Prestressed metallic wires included within each tube segment. The plurality of tube segments are assembled to form the tube. End fittings are provided on each opposing end of the tube segments forming the tube to facilitate joining the tube to other tubes end-to-end. At least one post-tension cable is attached to opposing end fittings on the tube segment. The invention further includes an on-site method for fabricating and assembling the tubeway from the prestressed concrete tube segments.

Abstract: A mobile shelter or facility adapted to be mounted on a flatbed of a highway tractor. The mobile shelter includes a compacted configuration that quickly and easily transforms into an expanded configuration. The compacted configuration conforms to transportation codes, and once at a desired location, the expanded configuration operates as a self-sufficient facility. The transformation is employed by either a hand-powered, electric or hydraulically powered winch or gear system. The expanded configuration further includes a pinnacle roof structure that is supported by load bearing sidewalls extended vertically from the flatbed. The sidewalls comprise box-like structures that provide storage alcoves for the mobile shelter when in the compacted configuration.

Abstract: A building structure has a generally horizontally disposed modular roof made-up of a plurality of side-by-side roof units which are mutually joined. Each roof unit is constructed as a pair of spaced apart rigid skins shaped in such manner as to eliminate additional supporting structure and which are joined along mutual edges of the pair of skins and forming an interior space filled with a thermal insulator. One end of each of the roof units is curved in a downward arc. A skylight frame protrudes above an upper one of the pair of skins, the frame supporting an upwardly facing window. An electrical circuit includes LED lamps mounted in a lower one of the pair of skins with its illumination directed downwardly. The circuit may also include a motorized shade or a liquid crystal shade for limiting natural light transmission through the window.
