    Abstract: The invention provides novel compositions comprising one or more polymers, including a functional triblock copolymer and optionally a structural triblock copolymer and compositions that include such polymers. The functional triblock contains quaternized nitrogen anti-fouling functionality. The compositions can be used to prepare antimicrobial, antifouling coatings, for example, for medical, health, marine fouling, corrosion and general protein fouling resistance applications.

Units of the functionalized poly(isoprene) block can include hydroxyl groups and one or more ether linked side chains comprising R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, as defined herein, or a combination thereof. The polymers can be used to provide antifouling coatings, for example, for marine ship hulls.
