The warning system includes a control system that allows a user to select at least one of a plurality of precreated verbal warning messages for emission. In another embodiment, a safety device comprises a safety cone, a sensor disposed on the safety cone and that senses an object, and a warning system disposed at the top of the safety cone and that emits at least one warning signal after the sensor senses an object.
