  • Publication number: 20240110419
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a bifold door panel, and allowing the panel to run on a track. The apparatus has a trolley that runs within the track and a vertical elongate member that is axially movable relative to the trolley. A hinge or hinge portion is mounted on the elongate member, and a first support is disposed between the trolley and the hinge or hinge portion. The first support functions to support the hinge or hinge portion against a compression force arising from the bifold door panel when the apparatus is mounted on a top region of the panel. A second support is disposed at or toward the terminus of the elongate member and distal to the trolley. The second support functions to support the hinge or hinge portion against a compression force arising from the bifold door panel mounted thereon when mounted on a bottom region of the panel.

  • Publication number: 20210355723
Abstract: Door and window panels for use in building construction, and particularly bi-folding door and window panels. A latch mechanism and associated bolt are provided with a track to guide the bolt and a hinge fixing portion being disposed within the track. The hinge fixing portion provides a point of attachment for the hinge, and is movable within the track so as to be locatable at any level along the door or window panel as desired. The hinge fixing portion and/or track may be configured such that the hinge fixing portion is maintained clear of the bolt to allow the bolt to slide thereunder. In that context, the hinge fixing portion may perform two tasks: firstly the task of providing an anchor for the hinge, and secondly for maintaining itself clear of a bolt within the track.

  • Publication number: 20160347419
Abstract: A floating production system, comprising a superstructure configured to float on the sea, such that portions of the superstructure are configured to rest above and below the surface of the sea. A mooring system is configured to moor the superstructure to the seabed using neutrally buoyant mooring lines of steel pipes. The mooring system may be arranged in catenary. One or more risers disposed between the seabed and a semi-submersible platform, arranged in a curtain, are configured to facilitate the transport of liquid material from the seabed toward the surface of the sea. Liquid material may be stored in storage tanks disposed in vertically-disposed legs extending downward from the upper portion of the superstructure and/or in horizontally-disposed pontoons extending between at least two of the legs. The horizontally-disposed pontoons may form a square ring providing tanks for oil over water storage and/or dry storage.

  • Publication number: 20060100609
Abstract: A generic treatment protocol is disclosed for therapeutically treating a patient via an implantable treatment device. Treatment steps can be defined to start and end at absolute times, or can be programmed via telemetry to start a certain amount of time after termination of a previously executed treatment step. Treatment steps have a treatment rate or dose attribute and a duration attribute. Treatment steps may optionally enable patient-activated bolus overlays. Patient-activated rate or dosage adjustments can also optionally be enabled. Repeated-execution treatment-step groups are also provided. Such treatment-step groups can have start and end times, a group duration, and a group total dose, each defined in a manner similar to that for a treatment step. Treatment-step groups include a repetition count, which could be set to a value that causes the group to repeat forever.

  • Patent number: 6997504
Abstract: A dual pivot door hinge assembly for a side door system of a vehicle includes a body side-mounting bracket adapted to be connected to a vehicle body of the vehicle. The dual pivot door hinge assembly also includes a door side-mounting bracket adapted to be connected to a side door of the side door system of the vehicle. The dual pivot door hinge assembly includes at least one load arm pivotally connected to the body side-mounting bracket to form a first pivot axis and pivotally connected to the door side-mounting bracket to form a second pivot axis. The dual pivot door hinge assembly further includes a connecting member operatively interconnecting the first pivot axis and second pivot axis to allow the side door to remain parallel to a side of the vehicle body as the side door is pivoted radially outward and longitudinally.

  • Patent number: 6382705
Abstract: A four bar linkage is configured in non parallelogram form as a hinge for pivotally guiding a closure panel in a predetermined opening motion between a closed position closing an access opening and a fully open position longitudinally adjacent one side edge of the opening and generally parallel with a side of a vehicle or compartment body. In the opening motion, one edge of the panel first moves outward to clear a structural body member at one edge of the opening and another edge of the panel first rotates and moves longitudinally away from the opposite side of the opening as the panel pivots outward and then inward to the fully open position. The closure panel may be paired with a conventionally hinged front door of a vehicle to allow both the door and the panel to be independently opened or closed regardless of the position of the other.

  • Patent number: 3982402
Abstract: This invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for use in laying a submarine pipeline from a pipe-laying vessel. According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a reel pipe-laying method for continuously laying a pipeline of up to 24-inch diameter without a stinger by (1) aligning a pipe portion as it is being paid out from the reel, (2) straightening the aligned pipe portion, (3) tensioning the pipe, (4) discharging the straightened pipe under tension into the body of water, and (5) changing for different water depths and pipe conditions the lift off angle of the pipe relative to the horizontal by pivoting a diverter about a horizontal pivot, the diverter supporting at least the straightener and the tensioner and extending from the horizontal pivot mounted near the aft end of the vessel, upwardly toward the reel.
