  • Publication number: 20150267359
Abstract: A surface structure assembly that is adapted to be heated when electrically connected to a source of electrical power. The assembly has a relatively flat, thin surface structure having a top surface and an opposing bottom surface, and an electrically-operated radiant heating panel that has opposed front and back surfaces and is about the same size and shape as the surface structure. A fastening system mechanically couples the front surface of heating panel to the bottom surface of the surface structure.

  • Publication number: 20140360998
Abstract: A system for generating radiant heat in a transit vehicle includes at least one floor panel having at least one heating element disposed therein, and a power switch operably disposed intermediate a power supply source and the heating element for selectively providing and discontinuing a supply of predetermined power generated by such power supply source to and from such at least one heating element.

  • Publication number: 20140312029
Abstract: A flexible, low-profile heating cable with a first buss conductor, a second buss conductor, a plurality of carbon-based resistive heating elements, the heating elements connected to the first and second busses at connection nodes, high-temperature polymer-based electrical insulating thermally-conductive layers between the heating elements and the buss conductors, except at the node locations, a conductive ground member, a high-temperature polymer-based electrical insulating thermally-conductive layer between the ground member and the buss conductors, and a thermally-conductive over-jacket outside of the ground member.

  • Publication number: 20120234819
Abstract: A structural panel includes a layer having a pair of substantially planar spaced apart surfaces and a preselected adhesive material occupying volume of the layer. At least one heating element includes an electrically resistive material and is substantially encased within the adhesive layer between the pair of substantially planar spaced apart surfaces. A first substantially rigid skin has an inner surface thereof disposed on and secured to a first surface of the adhesive layer. A lightweight core layer has a first surface thereof disposed on and secured to an opposed second surface of the adhesive layer. A second substantially rigid skin has an inner surface disposed on and secured to an opposed second surface of the lightweight core layer.
