The method can include sending a request for content to a server from a user device; receiving instruction code from the server in response to the sent request, the instruction code operable to collect cursor information related to a cursor position and dwell time on a display of the user device; and sending from the user device the cursor information collected in response to execution of the instruction code to generate from the received cursor information an indication of relative interest between regions displayed on the user device; and changing the content based on the indicated relative interest.

Abstract: A client side computer system for receiving and displaying advertising content in a computer network includes a user input device, a display device, a keyword capture module extracting keyword data from user input, an ad invocation module, and an ad deployment module. The ad invocation module is responsive to the keyword capture module and generates an advertising call request to an advertising server. The ad deployment module receives an advertisement from the advertising server and displays the advertisement on a requested webpage displayed on the display device.

Abstract: A data updating method for modifying a cursor image, comprising the steps of: in response to moving a cursor on a display of a user computer, changing cursor image data corresponding to specific images, with the specific images having content corresponding to information to be displayed on the display of the user computer; and executing at least one cursor display instruction associated with the cursor image data of the specific image to provide updated data from a remote data source, the updated data being associated with the cursor by initiating modification of the cursor image data to display the specific images on the display of the user computer.

Abstract: A system for marketing distribution over a computer data network includes at least one advertising client computer, at least one affiliate service provider computer coupled to the data network, a query client computer and a server computer which are coupled to the data network. The server computer maintains an advertiser account database and an advertiser keywords database which has a number of keyword entries and bids which are associated with advertising content pages of the advertising client computers. The server also includes a query processing subsection which is responsive to a search term entered on a query client computer provided to the server computer via one of the affiliate service provider computers.
