Patent number: 8961707Abstract: An unblocking roller for removing excess material from the openings of cells of a honeycomb core is disclosed. The unblocking roller includes a cylindrical core having a center axis and a plurality of clusters each comprising a plurality of bristles. Each of the plurality of bristles of each cluster is coupled to the core at a first end and projecting outward from the core. Each bristle projects a minimum of a first distance from the core. Each cluster is separated from adjacent clusters by at least a second distance that is at least 20% of the first distance.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2011Date of Patent: February 24, 2015Assignee: Lockheed Martin CorporationInventors: Joseph Giannone, Christopher R. Wirz, Craig Scott

Patent number: 8729848Abstract: A control system for an aircraft including a passive feedback arrangement, a stick and a positioning arrangement is provided that provides for user adjustability of the resistance applied to the stick, such as in a fly-by-wire system. The passive feedback arrangement is movable relative to a mechanical ground. The stick is moveable relative to the mechanical ground and the passive feedback arrangement. The passive feedback arrangement acts on the stick to resist movement of the stick relative to the passive feedback arrangement. This resistance provides passive feedback to the pilot for the fly-by-wire system. The positioning arrangement is coupled to the passive feedback arrangement for adjusting the position of the passive feedback arrangement relative to the mechanical ground in response to movement of the stick relative to the mechanical ground.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2010Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Woodward MPC Inc.Inventors: Craig Scott, Darryl S. Stachniak

Publication number: 20110206475Abstract: Fixing a framing plate to a support structure, using one or more anchor bolts embedded within the support structure. A first hole drilled into the plate is to an oversize diameter which accepts a threaded sleeve. The threaded sleeve extends an effective length of the anchor bolt and may comprise a drive head and an interference member, which engages the plate directly or through a washer to fix the plate to the support structure.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2011Publication date: August 25, 2011Inventors: William Fitzpatrick, Craig Scott

Publication number: 20060173770Abstract: An online auction such as Ebay is provided with a telephone interface. This allows buyers, sellers or auction watchers to receive spoken information describing the auction progress and also allows bidding by telephone using speech and/or DTMF. Reminders may also be issued when a certain bid price has been reached and/or as the auction reaches its closing stages. The Interface provides far greater access to an auction than is otherwise possible. This is advantageous to the auction operator and buyers and sellers.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2005Publication date: August 3, 2006Inventors: Anthony McKay, Bill Burgar, Craig Scott

Patent number: 6208053Abstract: A hysteresis slip clutch having an adjustable stall torque is provided. The clutch components include first and second rotors, with a housing at least partially enclosing the rotors. An annular permanent magnet is rigidly mounted on the first rotor and an annular hysteresis sleeve is rigidly mounted to the second rotor. The first and second rotors are mounted within the housing such that the magnet and hysteresis sleeve are concentrically located and axially aligned with one another within the housing. In this orientation, magnetic flux from the magnet penetrates the hysteresis sleeve and magnetic hysteresis developed within the hysteresis sleeve acts to oppose relative angular motion between the first and second rotors. The magnetic hysteresis establishes a torque by which angular motion of the first rotor is transferred to the second. A annular magnetic shunt is adjustably mounted to the housing.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1999Date of Patent: March 27, 2001Assignee: MPC Products CorporationInventor: Craig Scott
