Patent number: 9625832Abstract: A planar motor system comprises a platen with a first planar motor component and a stage with a second planar motor component. The stage can move along a first cardinal axis or a second cardinal axis. The planar motor system further comprises a drive system. When the drive system is energized in a first drive configuration, it applies a first force and a second force. The first force and the second force are not parallel to any cardinal axis. A vector sum of the first force and the second force is parallel to the first cardinal axis. When the drive system is energized in a second drive configuration, it applies a third force and a fourth force. The third force and the fourth force are not parallel to any cardinal axis. A vector sum of the third force and the fourth force is parallel to the second cardinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2013Date of Patent: April 18, 2017Assignee: Rudolph Technologies, Inc.Inventors: J. Publication number: 20060249626Abstract: A single piece co-cured composite wing is disclosed. The wing has a flying surface and structural members. In one embodiment the structural members may be a plurality of spars. The spars may have various shapes to increase the buckling strength. The spars may be wave shaped, such as a sinusoidal shape. The flying surface and the structural members are co-cured in order to form a single piece, integral wing structure. A process for manufacturing a single piece co-cured wing is also disclosed. The process may include laying out composite sheets for the flying surface of the wing. Then, the composite material of the spars is arranged around a plurality of pressurizable forms. Finally, the composite material is cured in a clamshell frame. A single piece co-cured composite structure is also disclosed that includes an outer skin, and inner skin, a frame, and a stringer.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2005Publication date: November 9, 2006Inventors: Craig Simpson, Larry Ashton, Mike Allman, Steven Tuttle

Publication number: 20050211843Abstract: A method for manufacturing a composite structure is disclosed herein. The process uses a frame and selectively pressurizable forms. The forms define the interior members of the composite structure and frames define the exterior surface of the composite structure. Composite material is wrapped around the forms and the forms and composite material are placed in the frame. Selective forms are then pressurized and the composite material is co-cured together. A single piece co-cured fuselage incorporating a plurality of stiffeners is also disclosed in the application. The stiffeners are co-cured to the fuselage and may be in various patterns. The patterns may include an iso-grid pattern, and ortho-grid pattern, and a hoop-grid pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2004Publication date: September 29, 2005Inventors: Craig Simpson, Mike Allman, Steven Tuttle, Larry Ashton

Patent number: 5526500Abstract: Pipeline structure that is arranged to allow 1.5 cycle access time for both data and instruction cache without imposing additional instruction step delays than that imposed by data and instruction cache that have 1 cycle access time. Half cycle pulses are produced to allow execution of various instructions in 0.5 cycles. A bypass signal is generated to allow data from a current load instruction to be available for a second subsequent instruction even though the access time for data cache is 1.5 cycles. Additionally, a branch address is available for a third subsequent instruction even though instruction cache access time is 1.5 cycles. The present invention shows the initiation of an instruction step for each cycle and 1.5 cycle access time for cache memory. The present invention can also be implemented by implementing an instruction every 2 cycles and providing 3 cycle access time for cache memory.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1995Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Darius F.
