Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for presenting an advertising offer to a user. The presentation of an advertising offer is made via a software application running on the computer or client device of the user. The software application may detect a triggering event, such as a file execution, on the computer or client device of the user. The software application may then suspend execution of an application associated with the triggering event and may then send a request to a server that includes data associated with the user or the suspended/intercepted application. The software application may then receive a response from the server including a determination of whether the advertising offer should be presented to the user, and according to such response may activate a display to display the advertising offer via the user computer or client device. Finally, the software application may then resume the suspended/intercepted application.
