  • Publication number: 20080133047
Abstract: The illustrative embodiments provide a cable management system, a computer program product, a cable, a method for manufacturing a cable, and a method for guiding a user in identifying a connection location for a cable of interest. A processor, in a data processing system, receives a cable identification from the cable of interest. The processor then matches at least one connection location with the cable of interest based on the cable identification. Responsive to matching the at least one connection location with the cable of interest, the processor activates an indicator that identifies the at least one connection location for connecting the cable of interest.

  • Patent number: 7381474
Abstract: The methods for making a coated thin veneer, plank or wood product in which the coated surface does not crack due to instability of the wood involve applying to a veneer, plank or wood product a composition including a hydrophilic polymer and a reactive monomer or a composition including a reactive (meth)acrylate. In one embodiment, the hydrophilic polymer is a polyalkylene glycol, such as polyethylene glycol. The composition also advantageously includes a thermally activated free radical initiator, a photoinitiator or both. The veneer is further laminated into wood product boards that are cut down to planks. In another aspect of the current invention, several solvent based resins are roll coated onto the loose and/or tight side of the thin veneer or unfinished plank wood, dried to remove solvent, and exposed to UV radiation to cure the resinous material by radical initiation of the photoinitiator that leads to polymerization.

  • Patent number: 7382330
Abstract: An antenna system comprises a parasitic element, which is an electrically tuned structural element, installed between antennas to reduce or eliminate antenna-to-antenna coupled electromagnetic interference by emitting destructive interference in the direction from one antenna to another antenna. The antenna system comprises a first antenna operating at a first wavelength, a second antenna operating at a second wavelength, and a parasitic element located between the first antenna and the second antenna for reducing the amplitude of signals from the first antenna that would otherwise create electromagnetic interference in a receiver connected to the second antenna. The parasitic element is typically spaced from the first antenna by a distance substantially equal to one quarter of the first wavelength. The parasitic element generally has a height that is greater than the height of the first antenna.

  • Patent number: 7383336
Abstract: A method for processing data in a computer system using two main concepts for addressing this situation, from which numerous other implementations is achieved using a first and second main concept. The first is a method of managing a common data path among a plethora of facilities with a decentralized distributed management scheme. The second concept is a method for managing a shared data buffer or group of buffers between multitudes of facilities. By employing the concepts discussed in this invention, one can contemplate a complex dataflow consisting of a multiplicity of resources and data paths, whereby virtually any combination of sharing is possible. A single data path can be shared among multiple sources or sinks.

  • Patent number: 7381858
Abstract: Processes are disclosed for production of purified products from a fluid mixtures of C8 aromatics by means of integration of perm-selective separations with purified product recovery operations. The perm-selective separations of the invention comprise of one or more devices using polymeric perm-selective membrane devices to separate a meta-xylene enriched stream from fluid mixtures of C8 aromatics thereby producing a fluid comprising the remaining aromatic compounds which advantageously includes para-xylene. Processes of the invention are particularly useful for recovery of very pure meta-xylene and para-xylene co-products from liquid mixtures even containing ethylbenzene as well as the three xylene isomers.

  • Patent number: 7380567
Abstract: A valve assembly includes an excess flow shut-off mechanism for controlling flow between an inlet and an outlet of the assembly. The excess flow shut-off mechanism is adapted to automatically stop fluid flow through the valve assembly when the flow exceeds a specified flow rate. The excess flow shut-off mechanism prevents flow when it's set and allows flow when it's reset. The valve assembly also includes a reset mechanism for setting and resetting the excess flow shut-off mechanism independently of the flow rate.
