Abstract: A system, computer program product and method for automated admission of a patient to a specialized care unit of a health care facility from a pre-hospital setting includes a controller with a memory in communication with a processor, the memory including program instructions for execution by the processor to detect an initiation of a specialized patient care protocol, link an identifier of a patient locator device associated with the patient to an electronic medical record of the patient in an electronic admission system of the health care facility, poll one or more specialized care units to identify an available specialized care unit, automatically schedule a procedure in the available specialized care unit, and electronically route the patient from the pre-hospital setting directly to the available specialized care unit.

Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present disclosure describe the combined analysis of dynamic models and static models generated as part of a healthcare delivery process. Based on the combined analysis, As-Is and variation models (each having dynamic and static components) are generated. In one embodiment, the As-Is model components may be used in strategic planning. Likewise, in one embodiment, the variation model components may be used to derive respective dynamic and static quality metrics that may be used in report and control processes applied to the healthcare delivery process.

Abstract: A method for determining the value of service knowledge is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a database of service knowledge, including one or more service knowledge objects, corresponding to a system. The method may also include associating the service knowledge with a plurality of taxonomic service categories associated with respective service events. Further, the method may include establishing a value of the one or more service knowledge objects. Such value may be established through a comparison of a first and second expected maintenance costs for the system determined from the service knowledge without and with, respectively, the one or more service knowledge objects. Additionally, the method may include storing or outputting the established value. Various other methods, systems, and devices are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system and method for locating and servicing a medical device. A portable computer system transmits a wireless signal to physically locate and identify the medical device which is disposed in proximity to the portable computing system. Further, the medical device may be wirelessly coupled to the portable computer system. The device may be serviced by a field engineer and/or a remote servicing center via the portable computing system and the wireless connection. An electronic toolset may be employed.
