Abstract: A system is provided to i) Allow a computer to access multiple streams of multi-media content, such as video, audio and RSS content; ii) put a “place holder” inside software applications into which the multi-media content can be directed; and iii) direct the multi-media content to any software application running in the foreground that contains a place holder.

Abstract: A system by which a computer user can view or listen to selected media objects, such as videos or podcasts or Internet radio, located in the Document Object Model (“DOM”) of a web page. The system is able to isolate the media objects selected by a user or the media objects stipulated in a database containing a description of the location of the objects. The system has the ability to display the specified media objects in a toolbar or console. The system is able to play multiple media objects concurrently and to independently control the sound produced by multiple media objects and also has the capability of performing a pre-recorded set of instructions to cause an object in the DOM to execute, such as playing a video or opening a file.

Abstract: A method of automatically processing e-mails wherein the e-mail is tagged by the sender with a unique identifier so that the e-mail can be automatically routed or filed. The unique identifier is encrypted to protect it from unauthorized tampering or decoding to avoid misidentification or fraudulent labelling of the e-mails.

Abstract: An email encryption method and system in which a sender generates an encryption key, which is sent to a key server along with a message key and the recipient's user identification, the sender encrypts the email message, sends the encrypted message and message key to a recipient, and the encryption key is released by the key server to a registered recipient upon receipt of the registered recipient's user identification and the message key.

Abstract: An interactive auction system allows a Seller to automatically establish the reserve price of an item being sold. The reserve price is established by means of a preliminary auction, in which bidders place standing bids based upon a general description of the quantity and quality of items that may be offered for sale in the future. Sellers can subsequently enter a specific item for sale. The value of the standing bids is then calculated and compared. The highest standing bid is selected and provided the Seller. The Seller then elects whether to accept the highest standing bid or use the highest standing bid as a reserve price for an auction.
