  • Patent number: 8328428
Abstract: A hub-bearing assembly serves to rotatably mount a soil-working disc (D) on a supporting axle (A) of an agricultural machine. The assembly comprises a hub-bearing unit (10) and a sealing device (20). The a hub-bearing unit has a radially outer, rotatable outer race (11) from one side of which a flange (12) radially extends for mounting a disc (D). The sealing device (20) is mounted on a side of the hub-bearing unit opposite to the side of the flange (12). The radially outer surface of the assembly has a portion (38) intermediate the flange (12) and the side of the sealing device (20), which is radially recessed so as to serve as a preferential seat for winding wires picked up from the fields during use of the agricultural machine.

  • Patent number: 7896750
Abstract: One end of a resilient sleeve is fitted on a tubular projection of the bell of a constant velocity joint. The sleeve covers a radial slot formed in the projections and the arms of a spring locking ring for axially removably securing the joint bell to a toothed driving ring fixed on a rotatable hub. The other end of the sleeve has a radially inwardly projecting flange which is sealingly axially clamped against a rigid annular part secured to or integral with the hub.

  • Patent number: 7850531
Abstract: A constant velocity joint has an outer bell telescopically coupled for rotation with a rotatable hub of a hub bearing unit so as to provide torque transmission thereto. The joint bell is releasably axially coupled to a rotatable member of the hub bearing unit by an annular connector. The connector includes a radially inwardly extending annular flange axially clamped against a rigid annular part fixed to or integral with the hub, and a radially outer portion extending axially around a cylindrical surface of the joint bell. This outer portion has a resiliently radially expansible section with one or more radially inwardly extending protrusions providing a snap connection with a relief or recess formed on the cylindrical outer surface of the joint.

  • Publication number: 20100197414
Abstract: A driving ring is fixed to the rotatable hub of a hub bearing unit for providing torque transmission from an outer bell of a constant velocity joint. The bell has an outer tubular projection in telescopic relation with the driving ring. A first end surface of the tubular projection faces a second surface of a rotatable ring of the hub bearing unit. The driving ring and the tubular projection have mutually engaging splines. The hub and the constant velocity joint are releasably axially secured by a rigid cap received in the cavity of the bell and axially abutting against a shoulder within the bell, and a screw connecting the cap member to the hub in an axially tractive relationship. This axial traction causes axial compression of the annular seal which is fitted between the first and second surfaces and provides continuous sealing around the engaged splines.

  • Publication number: 20080190535
Abstract: A hub-bearing unit has a rotatable hub fixable to the wheel of the vehicle and a stationary bearing race fixable to the vehicle for rotatably supporting the hub about an axis. An air cavity is formed in the hub with a radial passage for letting pressurized air into the cavity and an outlet for conveying pressurized air from this cavity to the tyre. The assembly includes a cam integral with the stationary race and cooperating with a piston accommodated in the radial passage. Rotation of the hub causes the piston to reciprocate along the passage and let pressurized air into the cavity.
