  • Publication number: 20120152664
Abstract: A device (10) for damping the vibrations in a pad (16) of a disc brake suitable for being mounted between at least one pad (16) and at least one piston of a caliper of a disc brake. The device (10) comprises at least one substantially cylindrical damper (26) suitable for being mounted with interference in a cavity (28) made in the piston (22). The damper (26) has an interference surface (30) comprising at least one projection (32) that extends radially and that at least partially wraps around the damper (26) according to a direction having at least one tangential component (T). The damper (26) is suitable for being fixedly connected to the piston (22) through said coupling by interference. Said interference surface (30) of the damper comprising two or more projections (32) defining an undulating axial profile (34) of said interference surface (30).

  • Publication number: 20120024643
Abstract: A pad (20) for disc brakes comprises a plate (22) acting as the support for a friction material layer (24). The plate (22) extends past the friction material layer (24) at least at a radially outer portion (E) of the pad. At least one load (30a, 30b) is applied to the plate (22) and fixed thereto by means of clinching. This load changes the mass of at least one portion of the plate such as to obtain an inertia of the pad which substantially avoids the vibrations of the pad during the braking action which are suitable to cause noisiness of the disc brake. The load (30a, 30b) comprises at least one projection (32) suitable to be clinched to fix the load to the plate. The projection (32) is inserted within a hole (34) of the plate and clinched.

  • Patent number: 6910555
Abstract: A caliper body for a fixed-caliper disk brake which can be associated with a disk in a manner such that its distance from the disk is kept unchanged and which is unusually strong and capable of a silent braking action comprises a first half-body which can house first means for generating the braking force and which can be arranged facing a first braking surface of one side of the disk, and a second half-body which can house second means for generating the braking force and which can be arranged facing a second braking surface of an opposite side of the disk, the first and second half-bodies being connected, by fixing means, to bridge elements which can be arranged astride the disk; the bridge elements are portions of a single element for connecting and supporting the half-bodies.

  • Publication number: 20040238293
Abstract: A disk brake (10) comprises a caliper body (14) and at least one pad-support pin (16) provided at least with ends (20, 22) which can be housed in seats (24, 26) of the caliper body (14). A resilient ring (30) can be fitted on the pin the resilient ring (30) is formed by a wire the ends of which are joined together and which is wound in a spiral forming the resilient ring (30). The spiral has dimensions such as to be housed in a portion (58) of one of the seats of the caliper body in a manner such as to exert a resilient reaction to a force to remove the pin from the seat of the caliper body. The pin comprises an annular seat (32) for housing the resilient ring (30).
