  • Publication number: 20240261772
Abstract: The present invention relates to HTS catalysts applied in hydrogen or synthesis gas production units, whether in steam reforming, autothermal reforming, dry or gasification reforming, chromium-free, consisting of iron oxide, containing platinum contents between 0.1 to 0.4% w/w, promoted by sodium contents between 0.1 to 0.3% w/w, and optionally aluminum contents between 5.0 to 6.0% w/w inserted into the crystal lattice of an iron oxide with a hematite (Fe2O3) crystal structure, thus, allowing high activity to be reconciled with excellent resistance to deactivation by exposure to high temperatures. In a second aspect, the present invention provides a carbon monoxide conversion process by bringing said catalyst into contact with a synthesis gas stream, where the maximum bed temperature can be limited by the injection of water or steam next to the feed of CO-containing gas at the reactor inlet.

  • Publication number: 20230059034
Abstract: The present invention addresses to catalysts applicable to the conversion of CO to CO2 and H2 by the water-gas shift reaction. Such catalysts are made up of iron oxides, zirconium oxides, cerium oxides or a mixture of the same, promoted by platinum (Pt) contents between 0.1 and 0.4% m/m and with a sodium (Na) content below 0.01% m/m, based on the oxidized material. The present invention makes it possible to obtain catalysts with a high dispersion of Pt, with metallic particles of the order of 1 nm and methods of preparation by coprecipitation of soluble salts in aqueous medium using ammonium hydroxide as a precipitating agent.

  • Publication number: 20220212159
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of synthesis of silica-based adsorbents used in the CO2 capture process in oil fields with expressive volumes of associated CO2, aiming its subsequent use in processes of producing bioQAV and alcohol from the hydrogenation reaction. Adsorbents obtained based on silica and different metals have a high stability and activity in CO2 capture, at adsorption and desorption temperatures of 25° C., increasing the density of the silanol groups present in mesoporous silica, conducted by replacing Si in the crystal lattice with various metals. The insertion of elements in the structure is responsible for creating vacancies used to capture CO2, being characteristic of higher enthalpies involved in the process.

  • Publication number: 20150018198
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing catalysts based on molybdenum sulphide, with an alkaline promoter incorporated, said catalysts being employed in the production of alcohols, especially ethanol, from synthesis gas. The method involves reaction of molybdenum hexacarbonyl (Mo(CO)6) with sulphur, so as to generate molybdenum sulphide, in which an alkaline promoter is then incorporated, so as to obtain a solid catalyst for application in processes of production of alcohols from synthesis gas, selective for ethanol.
