    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a multilayer stretch film comprising at least a first layer, wherein said first layer comprises a polyolefin resin. The film of this aspect of the disclosure further include at least a second layer, and a mechanochromic dye which may be in any or all layers of the film. Another aspect of the disclosure is a method of promoting optimal stretching of stretch film during a wrapping operation, which method comprises at least the following steps. A polyolefin resin is selected that has a given density. Selecting a mechanochromic dye based on its ability to agglomerate in an unstretched film made from the polyolefin resin having the given density, such that when the dye is included in the film, the unstretched film will exhibit a first color.     Abstract: The present invention provides coated films and packages formed from such films. In one aspect, a coated film comprises (a) a film comprising (i) a first layer comprising from 70 to 100 percent by weight of a polyethylene having a density 0.930 g/cm3 or less and a peak melting point of less than 126° C.; (ii) a second layer comprising from 60 to 100 percent by weight polyethylene having a density of 0.905 to 0.970 g/cm3 and a peak melting point in the range of 100° C. to 135° C.; and (iii) at least one inner layer between the first layer and the second layer comprising from 40 to 100 percent by weight of a polyethylene having a density from 0.930 to 0.970 g/cm3 and a peak melting point in the range of 120° C. to 135° C., wherein the polyethylene is a medium density polyethylene or a high density polyethylene; and (b) a coating on an outer surface of the second layer of the film comprising a crosslinked polyurethane, wherein the coating is substantially free of isocyanate groups.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of promoting optimal stretching of stretch film during a wrapping operation, which method comprises at least the following steps. First a resin suitable for making stretch films is selected. Then a dispersed agent is selected, preferably one which has a refractive index similar to the selected resin such that when a film is made comprising the resin and the dispersed agent, the film will appear somewhat clear. The dispersed agent is then mixed with the resin and a film is formed from the resin containing the dispersed agent. Finally, a load is manually wrapped using such film, wherein during wrapping, the film is stretched to a level where the film becomes more opaque.
