  • Patent number: 11868606
Abstract: An electronic device with a touch-sensitive surface and display can execute a messaging application. In the messaging application, swipe options can be displayed for messages and threads. Swipe options correspond to actions that can be taken on the messages or threads. Messages and threads can be associated with notification rules as well as be ignored. Composition interfaces and messages can be displayed simultaneously in the messaging application. The messaging application can display a conversation view of a message thread with a common header that can include subject information and names of participants in the threads. The messaging application allows for adding and removing participants to the conversation view. The messaging application allows for grouping search results from a search of messages using a search term. The grouping can be based on the location of the search term within the messages.

  • Patent number: 11226724
Abstract: This application relates to performing organizational tasks using a variety of physical operations in a message application. The physical operations can include swiping actions performed by the user of the message application. By performing certain types of swipes on a user interface of the message application, the user can more readily organize messages stored by the message application. The types of swipes can include full swipes, which can execute one or more functions on a message, and partial swipes, which can open up a menu that includes multiple buttons for executing various operations on the message being swiped. Additionally, the direction of the swipe can also determine the functions and operations to be performed on the message being swiped.

  • Patent number: 10310728
Abstract: Messages are presented so as to make effective use of the display area to convey information to the user. For example, message content of primary interest to the user (e.g., new content) can be distinguished from secondary content (e.g., content quoted from a previous message), and the message can be initially displayed with the secondary content hidden using an expandable visual indicator that the user can expand to reveal the secondary content. Different elements within a message, such as textual content and graphical content elements, can be scaled independently using magnification factors optimized for each element.

  • Patent number: 10164920
Abstract: A method and system for exchanging email attachments is disclosed. An attachment can be sent to one or more recipients using a file hosting service. In this way, instead of including the attachment with the email, the attachment is sent and stored on a file server. The attachment can later be retrieved by the email's recipients using a link that is included in the email. The link can be embedded in the email's header or body. In one case, the attachment is automatically retrieved from the file server using the link. In another case, a recipient can manually retrieve the attachment from the file server using the link. A link can be associated with an expiration date such that when a link expires, the link can no longer be used to retrieve the attachment.

  • Patent number: 8568236
Abstract: A fantasy sports alert agent provides notifications of relevant news articles and occurrences in a fantasy sports game, such as fantasy team roster changes or player trades, and also suggests changes to a fantasy team roster to improve the team's chances of winning. The notifications are based on items of data received from an item generator, which is typically a server process that communicates with the agent via a network. The alert agent may suggest alternative fantasy team roster lineups and, if the user accepts a suggestion, the agent may change the lineup. Each notification includes a call to action feature, such as a web link, which a user can select to perform an action, such as accepting a trade or changing the team's roster. The notifications may be displayed on a user's computer screen by the alert agent, or by an RSS reader or electronic mail reader.

  • Publication number: 20080153589
Abstract: A computer-based method for generating graphical representations of statistics such as player rankings in a fantasy sports game is disclosed. A statistic for a particular team or player is displayed on a graph in a position based on the value of the statistic at a particular time. The graph displays the ranking of the user's team relative to other players in a fantasy sports league. Graphical indicators are displayed to allow the user to visually perceive the difference in ranking between the user's team or player and the next higher or lower ranked team or player. The graph display can be animated to show changes in team or player performance over time by varying the displayed graph to show the statistics for successive time periods.
