    Abstract: A technique for handling messages generated in an industrial control procedure by a first device for being transmitted via a communication network towards a second device is presented, wherein the first device is one of a field device and a field device controller and the second device is the other one of the field device and the field device controller. A method implementation of the technique comprises intercepting a first message generated by the first device, wherein the first message is intercepted before the communication network towards the second device, and wherein the first message has a first message content. The method also comprises storing the first message content and forwarding the first message content on the communication network towards the second device.
