Abstract: A traffic forwarding method and an apparatus, related to the field of communication technologies, to reduce a rate of traffic loss. The method includes: during graceful restart of a device in a network, when a restart device in the network enters a restart state, a neighbor device of the restart device updates, from first routing information to second routing information, routing information used to forward target traffic. In addition, the neighbor device forwards the target traffic based on the second routing information. The first routing information indicates the neighbor device to send the target traffic to the restart device. The second routing information indicates the neighbor device to send the target traffic to another device.

Abstract: A network system includes a first network device, a second network device, and a third network device. The first network device is configured to: obtain a first route advertisement message, where the first route advertisement message includes a first route prefix; and obtain a second route prefix based on the first route prefix, where the second route prefix corresponds to a first network slice, and the second route prefix is a subnet prefix of the first route prefix. The first network device advertises a second route advertisement message to the second network device, where the second route advertisement message includes the second route prefix.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for configuring an ARP entry. The method includes: acquiring, by a first router, when determining that a second router is a reachable neighbor, information needed for configuring an ARP entry; and configuring, by the first router during neighbor route calculation performed with the second router, the ARP entry according to the acquired information needed for configuring the ARP entry. When neighbor establishment between the first router and the second router is completed, because the ARP entry configuration on neighbor routers has been completed and IP traffic can be forwarded normally, the problem that partial traffic is lost when the neighbor routers perform traffic forwarding for the first time is avoided.
