  • Publication number: 20230360571
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a computerized method includes: receiving a set of pixel parameters of the display screen; receiving a set of lens parameters of a lens screen comprising an array of microlenses disposed in front of the display screen; receiving a set of eye parameters of an eye prescription; tracking the user's eye using an imaging device; constructing a projection matrix based on the pixel parameters, lens parameters, and eye parameters; generating an expected retina image that is expected to be focused on the retina of the user without the eye prescription; generating a target retina image for projection on the retina; iteratively adjusting the input screen image to determine an optimized screen image that minimizes an error between the corresponding target retina image and the expected retina image; and displaying the optimized screen image on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 9373931
Abstract: The methods and materials described herein contemplate the use films of colloidal quantum dots as a gain medium in a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser. The present disclosure demonstrates a laser with single-exciton gain in the red, green, and blue wavelengths. Leveraging this nanocomposite gain, the results realize a significant step toward full-color single-material lasers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 11, 2013
Date of Patent: June 21, 2016
    Assignee: BROWN UNIVERSITY
Inventors: Arto V. Nurmikko, Cuong Dang

  • Publication number: 20110143836
Abstract: A gaming machine artwork assembly includes a carrier on which images to be illuminated are carried. An electroluminescent illuminating arrangement is mounted on an operatively rear surface of the carrier. The electroluminescent illuminating arrangement comprises a plurality of electroluminescent elements, at least one element being associated with each image to be illuminated. A driver circuit is connected to the illuminating arrangement for driving the electroluminescent illuminating arrangement to illuminate selected electroluminescent elements of the arrangement on command from a controller of the gaming machine. The driver circuit includes individual drivers for each electroluminescent element for independently driving the electroluminescent elements and variably controlling the intensity of the illumination of the images with which said electroluminescent elements are associated.

  • Publication number: 20070072082
Abstract: An implantable medical device comprises a housing, circuitry enclosed in the housing and configured at least to transmit therapeutic stimulatory pulses to a patient, and an electrochemical cell enclosed therein. The electrochemical cell comprises an electrode assembly having a negative electrode, and a positive electrode.

  • Patent number: 7035209
Abstract: A communications network has data and dedicated control network communication links between nodes. The control network is automatically and reliably created by each node determining each of its neighbor nodes to which it has a direct data link, each node having at least two neighbor nodes, and establishing a control network link for communicating control network traffic directly with each of these neighbor nodes. Each control network link can, if a dedicated control network link is not available, use bandwidth of a data link between the respective nodes, a link selection protocol being based on shared risk link groups and available bandwidth.
