Patent number: 11907553Abstract: In an embodiment, a storage device is provided. A device controller with a memory is coupled with the storage device. The memory stores an application with instructions that direct the controller to receive a storage device policy. The instructions further direct the controller to store content from a storage request in accordance with the storage device policy, and record storage information, including at least a content identifier, to the memory. Subsequent to storing the content, the instructions further direct the controller to retrieve the content according to the storage information received in a storage request. According to an implementation, the instructions further provide instruction to refuse a delete request in accordance with the storage information. According to an implementation, the instructions provide direction to store the storage information at a remote location.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2022Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Gaea LLCInventors: Joshua Johnson, Curt Bruner, Jeffrey Reh, Christopher Squires, Brian Wilson

Publication number: 20090040091Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for programming a remote control to remotely operate a media device. The remote control is configured to communicate with and remotely control a media unit that is adapted to provide media content to a media device (e.g., a television). The media unit receives an identifier of the media device, and identifies wireless protocol codes for remotely operating the media device. The media unit wirelessly transmits the identified wireless protocol codes to the remote control, which are utilized to program the remote control to remotely operate the media device in addition to the media unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2007Publication date: February 12, 2009Inventors: Lance Carlson, Curt Bruner

Publication number: 20080307456Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for searching and for displaying media content on a display device, such as a television. A user may search for media content while viewing their display device. Further, a user may search multiple sources while viewing their display device to find media content to download, purchase, display, etc., on their display device. Search results are displayed on the display device, with various options available to the user. A user may then download, purchase, view and/or experience selected media content. Thus, users may then experience media content within a short period of time after deciding to acquire the media content. Further, users may view media content from a media server or media unit without preloading the media content on the media unit, and may experience a greater selection of media content.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2007Publication date: December 11, 2008Inventors: Todd Beetcher, Curt Bruner, Lance Carlson, David Feller, Christopher J. Squires

Patent number: 5491395Abstract: An integrated servo circuit that controls the spin motor and voice coil motor of a hard disk drive in response to digital commands that are generated by a microprocessor based controller chip. The servo chip contains a spin motor control circuit and a voice coil control circuit that control the speed of the spin motor and the position of the actuator arm, respectively. The spin motor and voice coil motor control circuits are coupled to a digital to analog converter which converts the digital commands from the controller chip into analog control signals which are utilized to control the spin motor and voice coil motor. Additionally, the servo chip has an analog to digital converter to convert analog signals, such as the servo burst signals, to digital bit strings that relayed to the controller chip. The controller chip and servo chip communicate through a 16 bit synchronous serial port.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1993Date of Patent: February 13, 1996Assignee: Maxtor CorporationInventors: Larry Hutsell, Curt Bruner, Jeff Reh, Glenn Albert
