  • Patent number: 7953799
Abstract: The invention relates to a service control device and method for controlling service execution in a communication network. A service script for a user is loaded in response to the receipt of an incoming message, and it is checked based on a comparison of the loaded service script and the incoming message whether a service is to be triggered. If a service triggering has been determined, a service is activated in an external service execution environment. Due to the fact that the service execution is not performed in the service control point but in an external service execution environment, the service logic does not have to be provided at the service control point. It provides a flexible way to define, execute, and control user-specific, operator, and third party services combining various service capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20110013597
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and entities involved in enabling and improving inter-domain handover. A PS based RAN such as eUTRAN can identify which potential handover to prepare and which handover to initiate, PS-PS or SR-VCC based on: (1) the UE's SR-VCC capabilities, (2) “SR-VCC indication” from the MME, (3) active VoIP bearer, and (4) target cell capabilities.

  • Publication number: 20090258671
Abstract: An apparatus for enabling user control of a fallback capability for circuit switched domain support may include a processor and a memory. The memory may store executable instructions that in response to execution by the processor cause the apparatus to receive a service indication for a service related to a radio access technology not supported by a current serving domain, determine, based on previously stored user defined input, a response to the service indication with respect to conducting a fallback procedure to a radio access technology that supports the service, and execute the response based on a result of the determining.

  • Publication number: 20090003276
Abstract: The present application discloses a system of at least a network element and at least a terminal. The system constituents are configured to provide assistance by the terminal to the network element in terms of access domain selection for at least one of the media channel and the session control channel of an incoming call to the terminal. In this regard, the terminal acquires information about the capabilities of an access network in which the terminal is camping. Upon receiving, at the terminal, an invitation to participate in a call, the terminal analyzes the acquired information about the capabilities of the access network, and optionally or additionally of the IMS network. The terminal responds to the invitation, based on the result of the analyzing, with an indication that indicates a respective access domain to be used for at least one of the media channel and the session control channel of the incoming call.

  • Patent number: 7266593
Abstract: A communication system comprises an IP network offering services to users and an IPT provider network providing call related functions to users. A control protocol message is received and analyzed by a respective serving entity in the IPT provider network. Depending on the analyzing result, call related functions are performed by the respective serving entity. Moreover, a received control protocol message is analyzed by the IP network and, depending on the analyzing result, services are executed by the IP network.

  • Publication number: 20030163545
Abstract: The present invention proposes a method for provisioning services to a terminal (UE), which terminal is adapted to perform communication via at least one communication network (NW1, NW2), each network being equipped with at least one service processing entity (NW1_PE1, NW1_PE2, NW2_PE1, NW2_PE2), the method comprising the steps of: requesting, by said terminal, a specified service to be at the disposition of said requesting terminal, analyzing said request by an analyzing entity associated with said at least one communication network, deciding, by said analyzing entity, that said requested specified service is associated to a specific one of said service processing entities of a specific one of said communication networks, and in response to said decision, routing communication messages associated with said terminal via said analyzing entity to said specified service processing entity within said specified communication network.

  • Patent number: 6574326
Abstract: A method and a system for reducing transmission of parameters between a-mobile switching center and a service control point in a telecommunication network such as the Wireless Intelligent Network. The mobile switching center transmits a first signaling message containing only a first set of parameters to the service control point during initial call processing. In response, the service control point transmits a second signaling message to the mobile switching center indicating to the service switching point a second set of parameters required by the service control point with respect to the first signaling message. The service switching point then transmits the second set of parameters in a third signaling message to the service control point in response to the second signaling message.

  • Publication number: 20020120746
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for providing a service in a communication network. A service script is used to control a service execution functional unit to execute the service, wherein an execution priority is allocated to the service script based on the kind of service. Furthermore, a service logic of the service may be provided at a service execution functional unit, and the service script may comprise a service description of the service. The service execution functional unit is then controlled based on the service description to execute the service by using the service logic. Thus, the service script does not contain the service logic, and a flexible service script concept can be provided. Moreover, the signaling traffic can be reduced since the operator does not have to update service scripts for a large amount of subscribers.
