  • Publication number: 20230349593
Abstract: An energy meter apparatus includes a sensing unit including a first temperature sensor configured to measure temperature of the fluid at a first boundary of the system and a processing-reporting unit comprising a second temperature sensor configured to measure temperature of the fluid at a second boundary of the system. One or both of a flow sensor and a pressure sensor is included in one of the sensing unit and the processing-reporting unit, and the pressure sensor is included in one of the sensing units and the processing-reporting unit. The processing-reporting unit is configured to establish and maintain a first wireless communication channel for communication with the sensing unit. The sensing unit is configured to report sensor measurements to the processing-reporting unit via the wireless communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20210391050
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of performing closed-loop insulin therapy comprises: receiving blood glucose values and bolus information regarding a person with diabetes, the blood glucose values and the bolus information relating to a period of time; determining, based on the blood glucose values, the bolus information, and a meal size propensity record regarding the person, an amount of insulin for the person; and causing, in response to the determination, the amount of insulin to be administered to the person.

  • Publication number: 20210391052
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of detecting a missed bolus comprises: receiving blood glucose values and bolus information regarding a person with diabetes, the blood glucose values and the bolus information relating to a period of time; classifying, based on the blood glucose values and the bolus information, each of multiple time periods within the period of time regarding whether the time period is associated with ingestion of a meal by the person; performing regression analysis on the classified multiple time periods to identify a first time period of the classified multiple time periods as corresponding to a beginning of the meal, wherein the bolus information indicates no bolus associated with the identified first time period; and associating, based on the regression analysis, a missed bolus event with the meal.

  • Publication number: 20130335193
Abstract: An electronic lock device may grant a wireless-communication device permission to join a secure wireless connection with the electronic lock via a local wireless-communication network. If the wireless-communication device includes an electronic lock management application, the electronic lock device may switch the state of the lock mechanism to the unlocked state in response to joining the secure wireless connection with the first wireless-communication device and receiving a valid security code from the electronic lock management application. If the first wireless-communication device does not include the electronic lock management application, the electronic lock device may automatically switch the state of the lock mechanism to the unlocked state in response to joining the secure wireless connection with the first wireless-communication device.

  • Publication number: 20080163820
Abstract: The invention described herein is a pest-deterrent pet food bowl for the feeding and watering of pets which contains a pet food bowl, wherein a detachable center chamber holds the food or drink, and a base chamber surrounds the center chamber to form a moat. The moat is filled with a pest-deterrent substance, thereby providing a barrier to unwanted pests. The base chamber has guides emerging from its bottom, which prevent or restrict movement of the detachable center chamber when it is placed in the base chamber. The center chamber has a step emerging from its outer edge, allowing a small pet to cross the large moat and be able to reach the food in the center chamber.

  • Publication number: 20050156556
Abstract: A variable frequency drive for an AC induction motor includes a stall sensing system coupled with a voltage frequency response system. Upon sensing a rise in the current which suggests a stall, and before triggering a motor shutdown, the VFD is caused to increase the V/f ratio to the motor and thereby induce a high-torque shaking response and seek to overcome any mechanically induced stall. The motor can be cycled between a first V/f ratio and a second V/f ratio in several attempts to release the stall.

  • Patent number: 5826085
Abstract: An object oriented interactive application interface for facilitating application program development in a networked computer system providing on-line services is disclosed. The present invention is an Interactive Application Object module (IAO), comprising a client side portion and a server side portion, that facilitates the development of client applications for interaction with a server across a network. The IAO comprises a set of software objects that include interfaces and methods for implementing a client on-line service application at a high abstraction layer. The IAO provides high level objects for use by a client application for handling a large set of interactive system and business functions. On the client device, the IAO insulates the client application from the implementation details of a particular low level network interface.
