  • Patent number: 6700943
Abstract: An apparatus and method for synchronizing a derived bit clock with a transmit bit clock of a transmitted data signal is disclosed. The present invention uses a divide-only direct digital synthesizer and a fixed local oscillator. The synthesizer generates a derived bit clock by dividing the fixed, high frequency local oscillator. A transition detector identifies valid bit transitions in the unsynchronized data signal. At each valid transition, a control algorithm determines whether to adjust the frequency and/or phase of the derived data clock in order to maintain synchronization between the derived bit clock and the transmit bit clock. The unsynchronized data signal and the derived bit clock are processed by a reclock latch to generate a synchronized data signal.

  • Patent number: 5455085
Abstract: A window has two plates of radiation-propagative material, such as two plates of glass or two films of transparent dimensionally-stable plastic which serve as window panes through which electromagnetic radiation can propagate. The panes are spaced apart by one quarter wavelength of the radiation by a spacer block to provide for cancellation of any reflected wave. The window is readily disassembled to permit replacement of the spacer block to increase or to decrease the spacing as may be required to adjust the window for a different frequency band of radiation. Also, the construction of the window permits its mounting within the aperture of a wall, and to serve for joining two waveguides, thereby, to facilitate use of the window in the conduct of tests in a laboratory. The spacer block with the transparent plates thereon are positioned between a base and a cap, both of which are configured for attachment to waveguides.

  • Patent number: 4150447
Abstract: In a mattress construction, a first flexible bag having a first cavity encloses a separate second flexible bag having a second cavity and a separate third flexible bag having a third cavity and extending around the periphery of the second bag. A first valve extending through the first bag and the second bag provides means for filling the second cavity with water. A second valve extending through the first bag and the third bag provides means for filling the third bag with air. A third valve extending through the first bag provides means for bleeding air from the first cavity during the filling of the second and third cavities. A method for constructing the mattress includes steps for attaching the second bag and the third bag to the first bag during the construction of two subassemblies.

  • Patent number: 4089497
Abstract: A cap adapted for use with an elongated rail having a pair of opposed lateral surfaces includes a support member having laterally opposed walls which extend along the lateral surface of the rail. A resiliently compressible material is disposed over the support member and held in place by a cover. Opposed marginal portions of the cover are bent around respective troughs formed by the walls of the support member, and each marginal portion is retained within the associated trough by a spline. The walls of the support member bias the cover into frictional engagement with the lateral surfaces of the rail to retain the cap on the rail.
