  • Patent number: 9277090
Abstract: A document reproduction system includes an optical scanning device configured to output an electronic representation of a document comprising both machine printed and non-machine printed elements; and a computing device in communication with the optical scanning device. The computing device is configured to distinguish between the machine printed and non-machine printed elements in the electronic representation of the document. The computing device is configured to selectively print or store only the machine or non-machine printed elements based on user input. A method of document reproduction includes scanning a document having both printed and non-printed content to produce an electronic image; and automatically distinguishing between the printed and non-printed elements in the electronic image of the document.

  • Patent number: 9147305
Abstract: A method of distributing digital images includes uploading one or more digital image files corresponding to one or more digital images to an interactive kiosk; receiving user input of contact information for one or more third party recipients; and sending notice to the one or more third party recipients that the one or more digital images are available. A photo printing and networking system includes a kiosk for uploading one or more digital image files corresponding to one or more digital images; a kiosk network in electronic communication with the kiosk; and data transfer means for transferring the one or more digital image files from the kiosk to a third party recipient via the kiosk network.

  • Patent number: 8457448
Abstract: A method of removing inserted text from a digital image includes recognizing the inserted text in the digital image using optical character recognition; and replacing pixels of the digital image corresponding to the inserted text so as to remove the inserted text from the digital image. A computer program product for removing inserted text from a digital image includes an inserted text removal program stored on a computer-readable medium, the program including an optical character recognition module for recognizing inserted text in a digital image; and an extrapolation module for replacing pixels corresponding to the inserted text in the digital image with replacement image pixels so as to remove the inserted text from the digital image.

  • Patent number: 7557712
Abstract: A system for monitoring equipment includes at least one sensor generating a detection field; an electronic equipment tag associated with a piece of secured equipment; an electronic personnel tag identifying a person; and a server, in communication with the at least one sensor, for matching detection in the detection field of the equipment tag with detection in the detection field of a personnel tag and determining whether a person identified by the detected personnel tag is authorized to use equipment corresponding to the detected equipment tag. A method of monitoring equipment includes detecting a electronic equipment tag associated with a piece of secured equipment in a detection field; detecting a personnel tag identifying a person in the detection field; and determining if the person identified by the detected personnel tag is authorized to use equipment corresponding to the detected equipment tag.

  • Publication number: 20090027207
Abstract: A method for securing movement of an object through a secure area includes providing a first electronic tag for the object, the first tag having a first memory and a second electronic tag, having a second memory, for an individual. The first memory stores an attribute of object and information of an individual permitted to move the object. The second memory stores an identifying attribute of an individual and a type of biometric information of the individual. Identifying attributes of the individual stored in the second memory are compared with information of permitted individuals stored in the first memory. Biometric information is obtained from the individual and compared with biometric information stored in the second memory to validate the identity of the individual.
