  • Patent number: 11387765
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a DC midpoint terminal voltage of a three level inverter is provided. The method includes receiving an input power signal at a three level motor control system that includes a three level inverter, the three level inverter powering an electric motor, determining, in the three level motor control system, a speed value of the electric motor, and adjusting a zero-sequence inverter output voltage to adjust a midpoint voltage at the DC midpoint based on the determined speed value.

  • Patent number: 10075119
Abstract: A system and method for controlling a DC midpoint terminal voltage of a three level inverter is provided. The method includes receiving an input power signal at a three level motor controller system that includes a three level inverter, measuring, using a current sensor in the three level motor controller system, a DC current of the input power signal before the input power signal is provided to the three level inverter, and adjusting a zero-sequence inverter output voltage to adjust a midpoint voltage at the DC midpoint based on the measured DC current.

  • Patent number: 8415914
Abstract: An electric power supply system has a power bus for providing DC power, and a control unit for a source of power to supply the power bus. The power unit includes a damping algorithm to provide damping to power supplied on the power bus. A motor and a motor control include a compensation block for tapping power from the bus, and identifying a portion of a supplied signal due to the damping. The compensation block provides a signal to a summing block that addresses the damping on the power bus prior to the power being supplied to the motor. A method of utilizing such a system is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7880460
Abstract: A simulator system is connected to simulate the connection of a mechanically loaded motor to a motor controller/driver. The simulator system includes a current transformer circuit for monitoring AC output currents provided by the motor controller/driver. A simulation controller calculates, based on the monitored AC output currents, dynamic load voltages that simulate the response that would be generated by a mechanically loaded motor based on the AC output currents provided by the motor controller/driver. A number of power supplies amplify the dynamic loading calculated by the simulation controller to generate a dynamic loading that opposes the AC output currents provided by the motor controller/driver.
