Patent number: 11897437Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for heat sanitizing a vehicle. In one example, a method may include, responsive to receiving a request for sanitization of a vehicle interior, activating an ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) system and operating a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system to heat the vehicle interior above an upper threshold temperature for a threshold duration. In this way, the HVAC system may be advantageously used to expose the vehicle interior to temperatures that kill or inactive microbes while the UVGI system may supplement the heat sanitizing.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2020Date of Patent: February 13, 2024Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Alan Gutowski, Curtis Jones, Fred Koberstein, Stephen White, Peter Mitchell Lyon, John Rollinger, Scott Thompson, M. Patent number: 11807072Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for heat sanitizing a vehicle. In one example, a method may include, while receiving power from an external power source and responsive to receiving a request for cleaning an interior of a vehicle, operating an electric heater of a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system to heat the interior above an upper threshold temperature for a first threshold duration using the power received from the external power source. In this way, the HVAC system may be advantageously used to expose the vehicle interior to temperatures that kill or inactive microbes while vehicle battery power and fuel are conserved by using power supplied from the external power source.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2020Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Alan Gutowski, Curtis Jones, Fred Koberstein, Stephen White, Peter Mitchell Lyon, John Rollinger, Scott Thompson, M. Publication number: 20230297932Abstract: In one aspect, a computer readable memory medium comprising program instructions for graphically developing a connectivity driver is provided. The computer readable memory medium is a non-transitory medium. The program instructions are executable by a processor to generate a purchase order for a laboratory item, transmit the purchase order to a remote computer in order to communicate the purchase order to a vendor, receive an advance shipping notice generated in response to the purchase order, receive item information stored in an RFID tag of a tagged item received at the delivery location, and check the item information against the advance shipping notice in order to verify that the tagged item is the same as the ordered laboratory item. The purchase order specifies a delivery location.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2023Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: John Curtis Jones, Patrick P. Fritchie, Steve Kotlinski, Jay Brian Sailer, Pathik H. Soni, Erich Iwen, Ronald R. Hohs, William B. Williams

Publication number: 20220404466Abstract: The present application provides techniques for reducing noise in sensor-based systems, such as radar systems. In particular, techniques referred to background supplemental cancellation (BaSC) and background supplemental loading (BaSL) are disclosed and facilitate improved detection of moving targets in certain types of radar systems, such as radar systems based on Reiterative minimum-mean square error (RMMSE) estimation formulations. The BaSC technique may utilize a hard cancellation, where clutter cancellation is performed prior to estimation, while the BaSL technique may utilize a “soft” cancellation technique whereby clutter cancellation is performed jointly with estimation. The clutter cancellation provided via the BaSC and BaSL techniques improves the accuracy of the radar system with respect to performing target detection.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2022Publication date: December 22, 2022Inventors: Christian Curtis Jones, Lumumba Harnett, Charles Andrew Mohr, Shannon David Blunt

Publication number: 20220118951Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for heat sanitizing a vehicle. In one example, a method may include, responsive to receiving a request for cleaning an interior of a vehicle, adjusting a position of a sun shade based on at least one of an ambient temperature outside of the vehicle and a sun load of the vehicle, and operating a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system to heat the interior above an upper threshold temperature for a first threshold duration. In this way, the HVAC system may be advantageously used to expose the vehicle interior to temperatures that kill or inactive microbes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2020Publication date: April 21, 2022Inventors: Alan Gutowski, Curtis Jones, Fred Koberstein, Stephen White, Peter Mitchell Lyon, John Rollinger, Scott Thompson, Scott Christensen, David Hancock, Adam Richards, Steve Skikun, Frank Fusco

Publication number: 20180053211Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for identifying advertising opportunities for subsequent events, based on event data and transaction data for similar prior events. One exemplary method includes accessing event data associated with a prior event where the event data includes tags associated with the prior event, and accessing transaction data for consumers based on transactions by the consumers involving merchants associated with the prior event. The method also includes compiling an aggregate consumer profile for the consumers based on the accessed transaction data, where the profile includes categories of transactions included in the transaction data. The method further includes causing an insight interface to be delivered to a user associated with a subsequent event based on the aggregate consumer profile and the event data, whereby the user is able to identify potential advertising opportunities for the subsequent event via the insight interface for the prior event.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 17, 2016Publication date: February 22, 2018Inventors: Richard William Wallen, Srinivas Kosaraju, Christopher John Merz, David C.
