  • Patent number: 6110475
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition, and a method for preventing or reducing contact dermatitis. The composition contains a polysaccharide; a low molecular weight, synergistic saccharide; a solvent; and optionally an additive material. The present invention is further a dermatologically-compatible barrier film for preventing and reducing contact dermatitis which contains a polysaccharide; a low molecular weight, synergistic saccharide; and optionally one or more additives. The dermatologically-compatible barrier film is formed of a composition containing a polysaccharide; a low molecular weight, synergistic saccharide; a solvent; and optionally an additive material. The composition is a skin care product in a form of a lotion, a gel or a cream that is applied to skin of mammals.

  • Patent number: 4751095
Abstract: The present invention deals with the stabilization of aspartame, by the formation of an inclusion complex of aspartame and cyclodextrin. The inclusion complex is formed by combining the aspartame with the cyclodextrin in a medium suitable for formation of the inclusion complex before a substantial degree of hydrolysis of the aspartame can occur. Upon drying a dry inclusion complex is formed.

Inventors: Curtis L. Karl, Wolfram G. Schynoll
  • Patent number: 4655943
Abstract: A thickener composition is comprised of a polymer having as the major recurring structural unit an acrylamidoalkanesulfonic acid or derivative thereof and a polyvalent metal crosslinking agent is provided. The compositions are useful for thickening aqueous solutions within a specified range of pH. The thickener is effective even in aqueous compositions having high levels of electrolytes.

  • Patent number: 4637418
Abstract: Liquid containing composition, and the transport of pumping thereof are disclosed, which compositions achieve maximum fluid friction reduction properties at low concentration of a drag reducing agent such as less than 0.015% by weight and preferably less than 0.01% by weight. The drag reducing agent is a polymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid. Finely divided solids, such as coal, may be suspended therein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 25, 1984
Date of Patent: January 20, 1987
    Assignee: Henkel Corporation

  • Patent number: 4540510
Abstract: Synergistic thickener mixture comprising a mixture of a polymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid and certain water soluble polymers such as the galactomannan gums, derivatives thereof, cellulose derivatives and polyoxyalkylene oxide polymers. The composition finds utility in earth formation fracturing, textile print pastes, suspending pigments in paints and gelling alcohol-based cosmetic formulations.
