  • Patent number: 7487769
Abstract: The invention is directed toward a device and method for attaching one or more paintball pods the underside of the air canister of a paintball marker. A band of material encircles the canister, either covering the entire bottom and mid-section of the canister as a one-piece jacket or cover, or encircling the canister through a flat harness body with a retaining loop around which double-sided Velcro® cinches the harness body to the canister. The harness can be made of a number of different materials with some combination of non-skid and cushioning characteristics. The device protects the air canister, makes retrieving paintball pods easy and efficient, and presents a much smaller target than do other means of providing replacement paintballs. The invention also allows the player to gain mobility, as he/she does not have to deal with paintball pods flopping around during running, diving, crouching, jumping and crawling activities.

  • Publication number: 20090000475
Abstract: Inorganic membrane structures of high stability, high permeability, and large surface area. Zeolite membranes can be disposed onto an intermediate pore size modification layer which reduces the pore size of the inorganic porous support. The intermediate pore size modification layer minimizes the defects in the zeolite membrane and provides a more continuous and uniform zeolite membrane. The inorganic membrane structure can be in the form of a honeycomb monolith. The applications for the zeolite membranes include, for example, membrane ultra-filtration of gas or liquid fluids, biological assays and cell culture surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20080268165
Abstract: Inorganic porous substrates and methods of making inorganic porous substrates utilizing nanoparticles deposited onto a base substrate are described. The inorganic porous substrates are useful for biological applications, for example, biomolecule attachment such as DNA, RNA, protein and the like. The inorganic porous substrates are also useful for cell growth applications.

  • Publication number: 20080237919
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a uniform membrane coating to a substrate, such as a honeycomb structure, having a plurality of through-channels, wherein the through-channels have an average diameter of less than or equal to 3 mm. The method includes providing a liquid precursor comprising membrane-forming materials to the substrate and applying a pressure differential across the substrate. The pressure differential causes the liquid precursor to travel uniformly through the through-channels, depositing the membrane-forming materials on the walls of the through-channels and forming the membrane on the walls of the through-channels. The apparatus includes a chamber capable of holding the substrate and of maintaining a pressure differential across the plurality of through-channels.

  • Patent number: 7270121
Abstract: This invention is directed toward a device and method of providing a substantial quantity of paintballs to a paintball gun in a manner which minimizes the target silhouette of the user and allows him/her to supply the paintball gun with relative ease, safety, and efficiency in that he/she does not have to reach for paintball pods to refill his/her marker. A force-feed mechanism removes paintballs from the backpack hopper and feeds them into the marker, while a ratcheting ceiling communicates with a sensor and brings the ceiling of the backpack hopper down on the remaining paintballs as more are fired to ensure that there is a constant pressure feeding the remaining paintballs into the force feed mechanism. The invention also optionally provides for an air canister located in the backpack hopper which even further lowers the player's profile as a target and protects the canister from damage.

  • Patent number: 6184450
Abstract: An improved, universal, multi-position, tuning mechanism and bridge for stringed musical instruments, designed to provide quick, easy adjustment of the tension of the each string of musical instruments between one of two predetermined tension levels, as well as precise adjustment mechanisms for the traditional tension settings of each string, with all components being safely housed in an easily accessible main body. The present invention includes a support plate mounted to the front surface of the body of a musical instrument. A main body and roller-type bridge are mounted to the top of the support plate. Inside the main body, a plurality of levers, spring loaded plungers and tension adjustment screws are individually adjustable to vary the tension in each string. A multi-tuning lever arm adjusts the tension of the each string between one of two predetermined tension levels. A lever arm adjustment means allows quick and precise adjustment of the tension in each of these two pre-determined settings.

  • Patent number: 5893247
Abstract: A coping system for parapet is comprised of three separate components, a plurality of cleats, a plurality of chairs and a plurality of caps. The cleats are secured to the parapet at spaced intervals and each cleat supports a corresponding chair. Each cap extends between at least two cleats and chairs. Adjacent caps are spaced from each other forming a gap between the caps with the gap being located directly above the chair. The chair forms a gutter for routing water away from the top of the parapet. The chair biases the cap away from the parapet to maintain the engagement between the cap and the cleat. All three components are made entirely of metal providing a sealed joint between adjacent caps without the use of organic compounds.
