  • Patent number: 11696880
Abstract: A skin tightening composition including about 2 to about 35 wt. % of at least one thickener selected from polyamide-8, styrene ethylene/propylene copolymer, nylon-611/dimethicone crosspolymer, VP/EICOSENE copolymer, fumed silicas, hydrophobically modified silica, silica silylate, clays and a combination thereof; about 1.5 to about 13 wt. % of at least one filler; about 5 to about 45 wt. % of at least one hydrophobic film former; and about 20 to about 85 wt. % of at least one volatile hydrocarbon, wherein a weight ratio of the at least one hydrophobic film former c) to the at least one thickener a) is 1:2 to 8:1 (hydrophobic film former c):thickener a)), and all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the skin tightening composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 31, 2019
Date of Patent: July 11, 2023
    Assignee: L'OREAL
Inventors: Alexandra Jane Elisa Farran, Anne-Laure Suzanne Bernard, Prabhjot K. Saini, Cynthia Ghobril, Julie Martin-Besnardiere
  • Publication number: 20230036740
Abstract: The instant disclosure relates to cosmetic compositions that when applied to skin instantaneously and dramatically improve the appearance of the skin. The compositions include volatile hydrocarbon oil; mineral thickening agents; silicone elastomers; and hydrophobic film forming polymers; wherein the weight ratio of the total amount of hydrophobic film forming polymers to the total amount of mineral thickeners (film forming polymers: mineral thickening agent) is 1:1 to 8:1, and the weight ratio of the total amount of silicone elastomer to the total amount of mineral thickener (silicone elastomer: mineral thickening agent) is 1:1 to 5:1. Methods for improving the appearance of skin comprising application of the cosmetic compositions to the skin are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10646614
Abstract: The inventions provided herein relate to dissolvable hydrogel compositions and methods of uses, e.g., but not limited to, in wound management. Accordingly, methods for wound management involving the dissolvable hydrogel compositions are also provided herein. In some embodiments, the dissolvable hydrogel composition comprises an adhesive thioester hydrogel, which can facilitate adherence of the dissolvable hydrogen composition to a surface (e.g., a wound) and can be controllably dissolved later upon addition of a thiolate compound to release the dissolvable hydrogel composition from the surface (e.g., the wound).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2018
Date of Patent: May 12, 2020
    Assignee: TRUSTEES OF BOSTON UNIVERSITY
Inventors: Mark W. Grinstaff, Cynthia Ghobril, Michel Christophe Wathier, Marlena Dagmara Konieczynska
