Abstract: An electronic identity verifying device includes a housing, a microprocessor, and a memory including software instructions coupled to the microprocessor. The device further includes a user interface including a display screen and an associated implement electrically coupled thereto. A communication link is operably connected to the microprocessor and a personal identification card reader is electrically coupled to the microprocessor. A power source is electrically mated to the housing and a mechanism is included for supporting the housing against a support surface. The device also includes a touch screen interface for allowing the user to interactively exchange data with the device. A plurality of light emitting sources are electrically coupled to the microprocessor and are selectively illuminable during a transaction process.
