    Abstract: Systems and methods relating to delivery of an alternate representation of a requested segment of a media content item to a terminal device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system comprises a terminal device and a network node. The terminal device is configured to send a request for a first representation of requested media content, and receive a response to the request comprising a second representation of the requested media content, where the second representation of the requested media content is different than the first representation of the requested media content. The network node is configured to receive the request from the terminal device for the first representation of the requested media content, select the second representation of the requested media content, and send the response to the terminal device comprising the second representation of the requested media content.
